Further to my comment below: I planted maize, beans, cow peas, butternut and pumpkin in a field where the soil is black cotton. Only the maize and cowpeas have survived. That is because of the dry season and we did not water the plants! Recently we put drip bottles next to the plants and sprayed the plants with an organic liquid fertilizer! Some of the maze are about 12 inches high! The rest less! We also see flowers forming! What we think is that the soil is too compacted and the roots of the grasses will not allow the maize roots to take up the necessary nutrients even when we used granular fertilizer in the second tube of the planter! Therefore, we are going to resow the crop but use a two handled fork to loosen the soil first!
Did you every buy this? If so, can you tell me how it worked, please. I had one made but am having issues with the crops growing! Please can you share your experiences??
@@jeremysmith4044, I am from India and I am farming no-till way. I have made a particular type of instrument to sow the seeds. It can dig 20 holes with a spacing of 25*25 cm. But while sowing, we need to bend so it becomes somewhat troublesome. To avoid that, this type of instrument will help us. For that, I need to make a change to my dibbler. Let me try. I will share my result.
