How can this thermostat be used?
This smart WiFi thermostat can be used in two ways:
(1). Used as a thermostat only: In this way you can use it to replace your room thermostat. You need to set the mode of this thermostat to Manual mode.
(2). Used as a thermostat and a programmer: This thermostat can act as both a room thermostat and a programmer. You need to set the mode of this thermostat to Programmer/Automatic mode.
In either way, you can use your mobile phone to control it anytime anywhere.
You can use this thermostat together with your existing programmer/timer or thermostat.

Instructions say twist to remove back plate ... so obviously that means slide up. I would never have sorted this without your video. Thanks a lot.

Hi there... I have to install the same but when I open my old general ac thermostat it has 3 wires but this Wi-Fi thermostate required 4 wires... How

@@RepairDIY what do you mean that you added another wire? Do you mean a link between the wires by this? There is absolutely nowhere on the internet how to connect 3 wires to this thermostat. Could you please explain in more detail how it should be done. I have yellow, blue and red wires in my old thermostat.

@@pistopit7142 my old electronic thermostat had four wires: earth(not connected to anywhere), neutral, switched live from my programmer(timer) and switched live from the thermostat to boiler. if you have an old mechanical thermostat, you may have three wires(one for earth, the other two for the dry contact switch). This smart thermostat needs permanent live and neutral wires to work, as well as two wires for the dry contact switch(for controlling boiler on/off). because there was no permanent live wire for my old thermostat, I had to use a red wire to connect to the permanent live from my programmer to this smart thermostat. good luck!

Hi i have Danfoos rx1 installed and will be replacing with this wifi thermostat, When open danfoos i see 4 cable connections, L & N and then 2 in 3, No 1 i empty. How should i install these cables to wifi thermostat?

check if you have a wiring diagram on the Danfoss or check the internet for the diagram for make sure you have correct connections. Very likely you just connect L and N, and other two wires to the dry switch on the wifi thermostat. safety first. good luck!

What sort of boiler is this fitted to? I have a combi gas boiler for heating. Hot water is only done when I turn on the tap.

My old thermostat has an earth wire but this unit has no earth wire terminal. What should I do with the earth wire?

?During the setup process, you need to put the thermostat into the setup mode, in which the thermostat should be flashing. Then you use the app on your mobile phone to find the thermostat and set it up. Please refer to the user manual for details. Good luck!

@@RepairDIY thanks for the reply but I don’t think it’s the set up process. I can even use the device. It’s like it’s tripping out or something. I don’t think I’ve got the wiring correct.

@@BillHrpr you could try: 1. switch off using the middle touch button, then switch it on to see if the problem solved? 2. disconnect the power supply, wait for 1 minute, then reconnect the power supply? 3. Check you wiring again as you thought? First connect the terminal 3 and 4 to power supply to see if everything ok? Then connecting the boiler control wires to the terminal 1 and 2? Good luck!

Yes: there are three types of the power backs: GALW, GBLW and GCLW. When you order, select the model GBLW, which is for electric floor heating up to 16A. have a good day!

Hi, I think you can use these for air conditioning. It is in fact a thermostat with wifi connection to network. However remember: If you like to buy one of these for air conditioning, you should buy those with a two-way switch or two switches: one for heating and one for cooling. good luck!

@@lydanial hi, there is a wiring diagram at the back of the smart wifi thermostat. there are 6 terminals/connectors. If you don't use underfloor heating, you don't need the terminal 5 and 6. you connect the permanent Neutral and Live to the terminal 3 and 4. The terminal 1 and 2 is acting as a switch, thus you just connect the switch into your boiler control circuit. Good luck!

@@dl7481 in UK, the boiler switching wires need 240v AC, and the unit also needs 240v AC. Anyone who installing this should have knowledge and experience in electrical circuits, and take precaution such as turn off electricity supply at the meter. If not sure, ask someone else to do the installation for you. if sure, be very careful like any DIY. Have a good day!
