EnGoPlanet Smart Street Light. World's first Smart Street Lights powered by footsteps and the Sun. Beside efficient LED light this solution provides WiFi connection, charging station and real time data via Smart Sensors.
yea, it would be amazing. the question is: can is realistically work? I'm not sure if it's possible to generate enough energy for a streetlight to shine the entire night or for a wifi hotspot to be active at all time just from people walking over two plates. It seems kinda fishy to me. what I'm trying to say is that you shouldn't be so quick to believe stuff like this.
I read about your products in an article in Natural Awakenings Magazine today; editor Peggy Malecki. They are exceptional and exciting! The article mentions that some of your EnGoPlanet projects are in Chicago. I live in Chicago and would like to check them out. Could you tell me where I can find them, and/or are they in-the-works projects? I am hoping that EnGoPlanet green technologies are not being abused for polluting effects. I am a light pollution activist and very aware that blue-rich white light is potentially harmful to human health, safety, environment and ecosystems. Other light-polluting effects include glare, light clutter, skyglow and light trespass. A city who seeks out your products is at least trying to be smart & green… and that is very encouraging. However, case-in-point Chicago: The world’s most light-polluted city is missing the mark and their chance to minimize their light pollution because of their current installation of blue-rich LED streetlights. I’m hoping to stop this… and get them to at least test out PC amber or 2200K streetlights. I hope that you are also encouraging the elimination or minimization of blue-spectrum white light in permanent outdoor lighting situations, use of timers/dimmers, eliminate glare, light trespass, and skyglow. cheers+stars Audrey Fischer International Dark-Sky Association, Chicago Chapter www.nachicago.com/Global-Briefs-Archive/Pedestrian-Power/ Pedestrian Power Smart Street Lights Powered by Footsteps
