I just bought a z650. Looking for videos I found your channel, and now I'm glad I have the same bike as you. You explain so well everything, a step by step that we can follow. Obviously I'm in for the giveaway. And keep the videos going, really good material.
I'm in, and not just because of the chance to win Tremonte, but because your videos are so great as a source for information for our beloved Kawasakis, and a resource for all the how- tos. Thanks for all of them.
Just finished installing both systems on my 2017 Z650 and your video was really helpful. The Smart Brake system is quite simple and only took me about 10 minutes. The Smart Turn system, on the other hand, was quite frustrating. As you state in the video, the rubber pad installation in the handlebar module is touchy. I would almost recommend doing that first because when the system wasn’t functioning properly, I thought it was because I had wired it incorrectly when, in fact, the problem was with the pad installation. I must have spent over an hour adjusting the pads before both sides would work properly. For some reason, the left signal would only work if I inserted the pad about a quarter of the way into the module. I finally got it to work but I’m a bit concerned that it’ll stop working down the road due to vibration. In any event, thanks for the video.
Thanks so much for clear easy to understand instructions - got my turn system today - and of course today is first REALLY cold day in central Illinois. Can't wait to install when warms up a bit. Do have garage so won't be out in cold at least. Thanks again.
Really great that you do a step by step on this. I just received both of the STS modules the other day. I am a bit worried about cutting the blinker wires. If I screw this up, there goes my blinkers. The brake module looks simple enough, I really don't know if I'm going to attempt the blinker module or just return it. I thought it was a simple plug n play with no cutting. I have the 2019 Ninja 650, install should be pretty much like your Z650, but man I have anxiety about this 😆. I do like the idea of where you put the ground, if I do it, I'll have to get one if those ring connectors, IDK if I have one laying around or not. Thanks again for the video, atleast I'll have something to reference if attempt this. 👍
I want in! :) I'm always forgetting to turn off my blinkers and the smart brake system is a GREAT safety feature I've never heard of until now! Thank you so much for all your helpful videos! I've already installed the OES frame sliders and the MZS shorty brake/clutch levers!
I'm in!! I just got a z650! I was test riding it and I hit an oil patch and low sided it :( I was told that I had to either pay a $2600 excess to have it repaired or buy the bike. I bought the bike but have a lot to fix on it so winning this would make my year! :)
That sucks. Don’t know how it is where you’re from, but here, you are only required to pay the deductible of the dealerships insurance in an accident. Usually only a couple hundred bucks.
Congrats! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-B3Cjdmrgm-Y.html You won a module! Visit this video to see what you won, and email me at tremonte@tremonte.tv with your shipping info!
I had an '87 Yamaha SRX250 with self-canceling signals. I am surprised they still aren't standard equipment on all bikes. That brake module seems pretty sweet. I've tried to get into a habit of tapping the rear brake even when engine braking my Z, that brake module would make my life a lot easier (safer). Definitely gonna look into that.
I'm in ... Great Video Tremonte. I'm really bad with turn signals and i usually tap my brake pedal when i'm engine breaking so theses would be great to have.
You know I want in on that action....but DONT include me. Great how to vid man, I’m gonna head out there and take advantage of your discount though! Keepem comin’
Great video! I wish I found this video before I ordered my STS and brake unit directly from ST2..The parts arrived today...I have one quick dummy question..is the wiring the same on my 2018 Kawasaki Vulcan 650 S and your Z650? if so, this will help a lot during install.
Hello, After I saw your video a couple of months ago, I order and instal the ST2 Smart Turn System module on my brand new Kawasaki Z650 2021 I'm not getting any response from Smart-Turn support and I'm wondering if you or someone else can help me. I connect the wiring how you explain with your video. When I turn on the switch indicators flashes ( left first and after right ) how is suppose to be! But when I press left or right signal ( with engine on and off ) Nothing! No left turn, no right turn, no dash indicators! that means no indicators! Please Help!
Put it on my Kawasaki Vulcan s650 and it stopped working e moths in. I would have to stop my motorcycle turn it off then back on blinkers would say all is good get going again then nothing signals off. Taking them off
I'm sure they wouldn't like you cutting into the harness, but being that it's only a 12month warranty, and they would have to explicitly prove that the module caused whatever failure the bike had. I doubt you would have any issues.
Im struggling turning it into a momenty switch i have the Z400 the indicator housing is the same but the little foam pads don't work the small ones i find don't do anything to stop it latching and the larger foam pads are to think that they stop it all together. I saw another video with a guy with a Z900 with same problem. Any advise?
Sadly all that stuff is not available in Germany, bet that company won't go through the hassle of getting those gadgets TÜV-approved I seldom forget to turn off my turn signal but that smart braking module would be really sweet :/
Would the brake module require TÜV approval, since it is a piggy-back device, and does not interrupt the normal function of the brake circuit? You could always contact the company and ask them. They are based in Slovenia.
I'm really not an expert on that topic but I even need ABE (general operating license) for small stuff like levers and windshields, if there is no ABE I have to get it TÜV-approved myself and that's very expensive. I'd say something that interfers with my indicators and brake lights definitely needs approval.
Hoping you can help, as I'm not getting any response from Smart-Turn support. Just had the Smart Turn System installed on my 2018 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 Classic LT. The install took a professional bike mechanic more than 3 hours. Turn signals cancel now, however lane changes do not. Further I'm unable to cancel the signal manually by pressing the button. The button feels quite clunky now and have to slide it quite hard to engage the turn signals. Any advice would be much appreciated.
If lane change isn't cancelling, they don't have the module mounted properly. It needs to be as parallel to the ground as possible. The switch issue is most likely from the little pad inserts being pushed in too far. They need to just barely be inserted into the switch housing.
@@Tremonte I’m also not able to cancel the turn signal when I push the button in. So after a land change the light stays flashing until I make another turn. What’s that all about?
@@victorarluk1285 center press doesn't cancel the module since a center press just releases the mechanical latch that no longer exists. That's the purpose of the little insert pads. Keeps the switch from latching. You have to trigger the signal again (left or right) to turn off.
@@Tremonte tried that, but when I move the switch left because the right signal won’t cancel, the left signal starts to blink and won’t stop until I turn left.
Tremonte yes buddy thanks a lot u r a star, but i asked u a new question on ur instagram chat .... can u help me with that..... hope im not bothering u ???cheers.....
I didn’t say snap the flasher relay, I said snap the trim ring around the ignition back in if it comes loose. Just take that cover off of your bike and you will see the flasher relay and what you need to do to make your new one work.
