I bought the watch to monitor my heart rate. My old Fitbit would recognize when my heart went into Atrial fibrillation and then warned me. This watch thinks I'm just doing exercises any time during the night and tells me I'm doing just fine. Still, knowing this, I am able to see the fluctuations. Also, it doesn't record the sleep stages as well as my old fitbit. Otherwise it's an OK device.
After 2 FitBit garbage watches, nothing but problems, I ended up buying this very model (different color) because I was tired of paying hundreds of $$$ for FitBit crap that the Devs kept screwing up the firmware releases. (long story). So I bought this *IDW19* watch and I can say, that after using it for a few months, I'm totally shocked at how good the thing is. I honestly did not expect that. I use FitFace for Android and it stays connected most of the time. Even over night, it usually stays connected. *Here's the thing* ... the firmware on the watch right now is V1.01.17 Every time I go to sync, it wants to update to V1.01.18. So I have 2 questions for you: 1) which firmware level do you have on that watch? 17 or 18? 2) if it came with 17 did you update to 18 and if so, did the update mess anything up, like Bluetooth connection stability or other issue? I'm always hesitant to update to a "newer" firmware or software, because so often, problems are introduced or even planned obsolescence is pushed to devices. So I'm curious which firmware you are on and if 18, if it's as stable as 17. Thanks in advance.
@@ianwest1624 To put this gently, LOL THAT'S A HARD NO!!! Been there, done that... HATED IT! I bought a Samsung Gear (2 or 3, can't remember). It worked well, but it was heavy and clunky, making it too uncomfortable to wear at night. Plus, the Samsung watches have to be charged every day! It got to a point where it started acting up, so with the Geek Squad warranty, I did a claim and got my $$$ back. Now, this was about 10 years ago (or so, ish, I think LOL or maybe a bit less).... so one might think that Samsung would have improved battery life a lot. But apparently not! My friend just bought a new Sam smart watch a couple of months ago and she has the same complaint that she has to charge it daily. So this cheap, $50 ish dollar watch I bought is actually working very well, to my great surprise. So I'll stick with these cheapies now, since I'm DONE with paying hundreds for a brand name watch.
What the difference between the IDW19 and the sibling models IDW20, IDW26, etc.? I've been trying to look up spec differences and I can't really tell! Bezel size?
@@ianwest1624 thanks! Good review. I got the idw19 but I thought I’d ordered the idw26. But honestly I can’t tell what the difference, even advertised difference, is supposed to be!
@@ianwest1624 idw20 appears to be newer (idw19 is 2023, idw20 is 2024), higher resolution screen, 1.91” vs 1.81” screen, and additional functions like calendar, calculator and games. Idw26 is more rounded and fashionable (ladies model?) but same resolution as idw19. I’ve actually got both and order through AliExpress and the idw19 on my wrist. Will keep the winner.
