Pidgeons are fast learners. Urban pidgeons all learn at a young age the significance of the painted dividing line down two-way streets, and will alternate from one side to the other with the ebb and flow of traffic. You can observe this in any city.
Had a Pigeon do this before on a city bus. He got on at our local transit center and got off at Walmart 5 miles later. Don't know if he took the bus back.
Possibly did I remember they did a study on londons pidgeons year ago and found that they commute on the tube. Homing pidgeons also follow the roads home oddly enough and don't just fly home in a straight line.
This is only surprising because people don’t know pigeons are kniving basterds that can conceptualize and have better problem solving skills than chimps and parrots. Evidence even shows they are self aware, so he was burning to know where the train was headed and now he must take advantage regularly lol.
Gets off at Paddington, and takes an easy flight along the passageway to the main-line station where there's plenty of food from messy human eaters. The crumbs it picked up off the floor of the train were just an appetiser.
Not sure where the pigeon stored its Oyster card? How would it make it past the ticket barriers? Oh wait ... forgot it's a bird! I saw the same thng years ago on a Picadily line tube years ago - A pigeon boarded at Acton town and disembarked at South Ealing. It strolled casually through the carriage foraging for food during the short journey and then hopped cooly onto the platorm when the train stopped and the doors opened.
...I remember comedian Dave Gorman posted on Twitter a year or so ago a photo of a pigeon on the tube train he was on. He said they were the only ones on it and, of the pigeon said, typical Londoner, he has'nt said a bloody word to me!
That pigeon used the subway before it even recognized where the door is..I live in NY and when they ride the subway trains they go get heat under the benches when it's cold and occasionally just walk off the next stop
Depending on the speed of the train, the pigeons fly in the wagon only when the train is moving at low speed and the pigeon flies at the same speed trying to fly on the spot in the wagon. ( it's a joke )
