I’m the same way! I from Houston, Texas and I keep the fan on 365 days a year. I don’t care if I go to sleep with noise or not but rain falling relaxes me oh so much!

I have to sleep with the sound of talking so I play the Bible my husband needs the sound of the fan so we do both. Talking on my side and fan noise on his side. Best sleep ever!

Thank you for talking about how you budget for your shopping! You are one of the few teachers who I follow who talks about budgeting. From social media, it's so easy to have opposing ideas thrown at you about how little many teachers earn and how much teachers are shopping. I get concerned when I see post after post about teachers spending money, seemingly on a whim, and very little content about teachers actually planning for their spending. I trust that there are other teachers who spend carefully, yet it's hard to see it sometimes amid the "I just had to have it" posts. Thank you for speaking up about practical budgeting!!

Yes! A fan is a must for sleeping no matter the season or temperature!! The hum is soothing. My husband swears if someone breaks into the house, we won’t hear the intruder, but I cannot sleep without the hum and the breeze.

I agree with you about sleeping with a fan on. We use a ceiling fan and a small fan of the floor for noise 😴

Thanks for sharing your pieces from Kohl’s! I too had similar thoughts about Kohl’s, and therefore NEVER shopped there. But after you showed the Torie pants, I thought “huh, not bad”!!! So I went to Kohl’s and found some great pieces for work! Going back Thursday to spend my Kohl’s cash!!!

LOLOLOL! Weighing in: when I was younger I needed to sleep in total silence and total darkness. Now, in my 30s to fight insomnia I need cool air and some kind of gentle sounds (music, ocean, etc.) So I can honestly say I feel you both :)

I've read that book before.. I probably wouldn't have made it had I been physically reading it. I listened to it on Audiobook and it was a different book than what I normally read for sure. For some reason I can't abandon a book no matter how terrible it is so I have read a few books that I've struggled through.

I sleep with a fan as well. And I commend you on reading books you don’t necessarily enjoy. I love reading and one of my goals every year is to read X number a year (40 this year). Beginning last year I questioned why I was forcing myself to finish a book I don’t enjoy so I don’t anymore as it was turning something I love into a chore. This year I’d guess I’ve given up on about 5 books and finished 24. I love your channel though I’m not a teacher.

Hi! I wonder if your feeling so tired is due to all the eating out. Sometimes when I eat out consecutively- even when its healthier choices- I begin to feel sluggish and excessively tired. It may also be all the stress with the alarm and of course like you said- the extra caffeine, but just a thought on other possible contributors. I love your videos, love how open you are to help and advise. I appreciate it! Also, I just bought the same clear containers ar Michaels for 8 something. They were (maybe still are) on sale for 10.00 and with the teacher discount it was even less.

I'm with Liza...on the shopping and the sleeping! Silence and pitch blackness are the perfect sleeping environment. I have a colleague who is from the US, and she can't understand why we don't leave the heater on overnight in winter. Can. Not! Noise, heat, light = NO! I have to say though, I do not live in the suburbs. I live in a semi-rural town where it is perfectly quiet overnight, even on my "main" road! As for shopping. It's just too hard! And not very fun. LOLOL I'm not sure if we ever get to the point, in any relationship, where we are ready to share ourselves falling up stairs. Says she who is oh so good at injuring herself without any provocation from the surrounding environment. "wasn't married to the idea..." Oh, I LOVE that statement LOL.

Agh! I’m Team Liza with the quiet sleeping environment but my hubby needs noise so he uses TWO sound machines and a fan. He thinks it’s perfectly normal. I’m not so sure about that👽😉

The fans, yessss! I always have two fans going when I sleep. I must. Even in winter. (Though I live in Texas, so that's not saying much.) I must have moving air. Staying in hotels is torture for this reason. I'm glad I'm not the only one!!

I have to have the fan on at night. Lol, even during the winter.

Can you do a video geared towards lesson planning, guided reading, and assessing your students? How often does California assess students especially in primary grades? I live in Florida and I would like to know if it is more often then here?

Blood born pathogens. That's interesting. We have never had to do that. I'm in Riverside county. We have to watch a mandated reporter video each year. It can take up to an hour or so. I do the same thing as you. Work and listen to it. It also has checkpoints where we have to click and take little mini quizzes.... Should've waited to comment... You just said you have to do mandated reporter too.

I saw the show, The Office on your TV in the background. I love that show! Do you watch it?

I have a short attention span when it comes to reading. If I'm not hooked within the first few pages I have a hard time continuing (unless it came highly recommend). I wish I was a bit more disciplined. I'm usually a "teacher expert reader" for this program called Silver Birch and I have to read a novel (or two) and interview students who have finished reading the book and some of those books are not for me (geared towards young readers, but some I have enjoyed) and I really have to push through. If I didn't volunteer, some of those books would have gone unfinished. The Female Persuasion sounds really interesting. Yes....go off your "vibes" when it comes to making a decision. I tried to sign up for Teachers Connect but I think it is for American educators. It's all good though. I hope things get sorted out with your security system company. That's a lot of nonsense you're going through. Congrats on your project being fully funded. You and Liza are so funny together. 😂 My house is never completely quiet. My husband loves sleeping with the fan on but I don't need it. I find I don't sleep as well during the summer. When I know I have to wake up early and do something I have a better night's sleep. It's weird. It's like I appreciate the sleep more when I know I have to wake up early. Anyway, great vlog! 😀

Summer blues... ummm no. I get super sad when thinking about going back to work. Lol seriously though, I miss routine but not enough that I am sad. The longer you teach, the more you have going on in life and the less bored you are! At least for me.

Hello, have you asked for a new Alarm system from your Security company? You may have a faulty wire or something. They definitely need to do more for you. Customer service seems to be a rarity these days. BTW, my husband and I sleep with a fan all year long.... and we are in the Midwest. 😄

Get the Ring, instead of a security system.

I wish I looked that good when I was slouching around! 😂. That is awful what you are dealing with in your “security” company! It’s doing the exact opposite! I would love to send you the extra Nest Cam I have...it came as a two pack and I have no use for the second one. It’s not an alarm, but you get real time alerts for any unwanted activity and BONUS...you can check in on Genesis with your phone when you are out...you can even talk to her. And, if you get an activity notice, you can see real time without having to leave where you are and check it out...or wait for police who apparently don’t do that anymore?!?!? And, when Genesis is moving around, it won’t keep alerting you because it will recognize her. Anyway, you may already have one, but if you are interested, just let me know and it’s yours. We single girls have to keep each other safe!
