I cannot get the formula for calculating duration of time to work. I type it just as you have it on here and it shows "invalid data type". Any clue what I'm doing wrong?

Have you tried out calculating difference in time between two days? Say if the first time was 6PM on 10/1 and the second time was 2AM on 10/2?

Really helpful, but is there a trick to put in a workhour target like 08hours and 15minutes and get the difference of the workhour target and the actual hours I worked so that I can get the overtime like this?
@smartsheetguru
@smartsheetguru Месяц назад
@@vanessahock4200 sure you could do that. You'd just need to compare that to the time you calculate

@@smartsheetguru Thank you very much, I got that now, but it wont calculate with a minus, have you maybe got a tipp for that?

@@vanessahock4200 if you need to always get a positive number as the result, you can wrap the formula that gives you a negative value in the ABS() function.

It should be generally available as far as I know. I see no limitations listed here? help.smartsheet.com/function/time
