@@GongTheHawkeye it's great that it appeals to u, from the outside looking in, there isn't alot of variety in gameplay, it just looks like "long arms punch"

@@julianb.f4007 For outsiders looking in, Smash can look like just kids spamming PK Fire and other specials, Tekken can look like 2 people just dashing in place for 3 minutes until one person does one jab and somehow starts a 17 hit juggle, Marvel just revolves around infinites and a fighter dies just from one interaction, and last but not least, ARMS is just people spamming grab at each other and punching randomly. No point in judging games from the "outsider's perspective" because they're always gonna come from ignorance. Every fighting game looks simplistic if you don't understand it well enough. ARMS isn't really more simplistic than your average fighter, just a lot more accessible, and therefore a lot easier to develop Dunning-Kruger in, with so much of its depth hidden from beginners. That's possibly coming from Nintendo fans never really having played any fighting games seriously outside of Smash and therefore doesn't have enough game knowledge to understand anything other than a platform fighter, but maybe that's an unfair generalization.

@@quintongareau-hames7903 It's not. You lose a lot of tempo from blocking too much, which is a big deal in a game that focuses a lot on stage positioning. Not to mention long-range grabs are a thing. That's why players dodge or parry just as much if not more than block.
