Smash Ultimate: How to Sephiroth 

Some may call Sephiroth a sword character, but I see him as more of a snap character.

This is like the official strategy guide version of Smash characters.

Sephiroth is literally Nintendo being thirsty. Not 1 but *2* shirtless skins

Sephiroth was the only DLC character that I actually wanted since Banjo and Kazooie. And we all know how Banjo and Kazooie turned out.

I swear every Izaw guide I see makes me want to main the character that is being presented. Great job again!

Never pressed a YT notification faster. I beat and loved FF7 as a child, Ultimate is my first real Smash game that I’ve put energy into getting good at (I played N64 version as a kid) and my main has been bottom-tier Ganondorf since launch. Sephiroth feels like he was built for my exact playstyle and this guide just became my bible for the next few weeks. Thanks so much for putting this together! Committing to Sephiroth as my new main has revitalized my interest in the game 🙏🏻🙏🏻

On Christmas eve izaw gives us a guide on giving despair.

That giga-flare is the most satisfying thing in the game...

I've also noticed in a few random matches against AI that if Sephiroth uses a fully-charged Shadow Flare against someone who can reflect, he gets his with *five* flares instead of three.

I figured out early on octoslash was op and that if you b-reverse it while recovering, you send them to the other side You can do edgeguards the same way too since it just covers so much space

Great vid, thanks so much for making it! One small note on Sephiroth's Shadow Flares, only the last orb hit will always send your opponent away. The earlier orb hits work different. They send the opponent in the opposite direction of where they were facing when hit with the original application of the move. At low percents it doesn't matter because they don't have much knockback, but at high percents it can make the difference between a kill or not. Niche info but could come in handy at high percents.

in a seph ditto, you can just use side-b to easily get rid of flare (neutral-B) Like in mu's with characters that have projectiles, shadow flare can get rid of those pesky projectiles It can even clang with normal attacks so it may save you

After playing him for like several days, I wanted to see this just to make sure I was correct in my playstyle, Almost got the homie to elite smash, lets go bois. I also wanted to see the aerial combos because i have only used fair as a spacer and not a combo tool

Footstool to dair is a great idea. I guess there’s buffered OoS z-airdodge into wavedash for distance, and something like fair or dtilt.

So what do you do against people that rush you down and don't give you time to space yourself or allow you to do the approaching? I feel like I'm stuck shielding way too much as Sephiroth when someone rushes me down since he doesn't have good out of shield options.

I don't know how much it matters, but there IS a gap between the shield phase and attack phase of Scintilla that you can hit him through.

On sephs counter there is a window in which you can hit him right after the counter is active and right before the attack comes out

I might challenge the not being able to cancel flare with projectiles part. At least with Lucario I've noticed that aura sphere can cause normal flare to detonate early and it passes through to hit Sephiroth.
