This is way more in depth than you will ever need in an actual field event, but at least you know how to do it “properly”

Looks like you guys upgraded to VBS3. Looks good! Any chance some of the older drills will be updated?

Government PCs can run this? It looks like they still partly removed the detail/normal maps for fps gain (like in VBS2) but I'm surprised VBS3 apparently keeps the same high texture resolution and model complexity as ArmA3.

Question: Why use SITREP instead of SALUTE in the scenario provided?
@canadadelendaest8687

A SALUTE would follow a 'Contact' report.

This is not the SITREP (or anywhere near it) taught in the Soldier's manual of common tasks Warrior Skills lvl 1 - STP 21 1 SMCT

@Hardcase LOL Yes it is: a. Line 1: Date and Time Group (DTG)-Report date and time the report is being submitted. b. Line 2: Unit-Identify the unit making the report. c. Line 3: From-Report the time that the operational situation started or will start. d. Line 4: Until-Report the time that the operational situation ends or will end. e. Line 5: Map-Give a minimum six digit grid of the squad or team current location. f. Line 6: Enemy-Report enemy activity. (1) Nationality. (2) Location. (3) Mission. (4) Time of Sighting. g. Line 7: Nonhostile-Report nonhostile activity. h. Line 8: Own-Report activities of own forces. (1) Changes in location of units and/or formations. (2) Activities of forces not attached to originating unit Source: STP 21-1-SMCT V9 7_31_15

It doesn't get any more Army than that. I was all excited for this short, clear and concise video for a class I need to give but the information is outdated. Apparently between the SMCT published in 2017 and the one last published in Nov 2019, the format has changed. This was posted April 2019 and then 7 months later it changed.

Yeah, I'd very much like an example of the newer one.

I wish people would stop using patrol as a verb. A patrol is a mission detachment. You don't do a patrol. "Going on patrol" means being attached to a patrol, not doing a patrol. At this point, it doesn't matter, as languages adapt, but if we keep letting definitions slip all the time, then I think we lose some of the effectiveness of the language. But in this specific case, it specifically says in a relatively recent US Army FM that the word patrol isn't a verb, but a noun.
