"Smells Like Teen Sprite" by Nirvirna in a major key and now it sounds like Weezer, Lit, or Goldfinger. You be the judge! Original by Sleep Good on vimeo.com/2496... Created with tovid.io
“That’s Krist, the bassist. He’s been my best friend for as long as I can remember. He’s a real giant and his personality’s even bigger than his height. And on the drums, that’s Dave. He moved in not too long ago from DC, but it’s like we’ve known each other our whole lives. He can be quiet but when he’s not he can be the life of the party. And on lead, that’s me. Kurt. Since our last drummer left, it’s just been us 3 against the world. We may be a small band but we have big dreams, and I’m certain that one day, we’ll become the Kings of Seattle.”
Opening scene: Main character wakes up really late to school, takes a single bite of his 50 stacked waffles, and says he’s going to be late to school. He skateboards to school as this plays in the backround as the opening credits flash on the screen
“Those years were the best. Riding out bikes, playing tag. Jimmy joined the army, Adam moved to Canada, Carl met a girl and moved off too. Now it’s just me and the memories. They might be gone, but we’ll always have that summer by the lake. It sure did smell like teen spirit”
I didn't make any friends in my last teen years. I was loner & I really can't relate to it from 15 onwards. HOWEVER I was introduced to Kurt Cobain when I was 12 & the friends I had from 11-14 are the ones with whom I had a ball of a time.
And in that universe, there's a vid on their RU-vid where somebody reworked it into a minor key, and all the comments are about how mind blowing it is.
Richard Johnson “Dave open the door! This dog is after me again!” “Hey thats me. I’m Dave Grohl and it look like ol Kurt got into trouble stealing from the apple tree at old man Rivers house AGAIN.”
Damn this actually gives me chills. I can picture kurt actually happy after he beat his demons in an alternative universe when I hear this. This is a great remaster. I wish someone can do this with every nirvana song. It'll give nirvana a whole different sound
I feel the same way. There’s something so beautiful about it. I like to think he’d appreciate it ✨🥹❤️🔥 He was a really funny guy. I wish he was still with us
@@Aaron_Berry well as NOT appreciative as I am of my peers fashion at least we have 90s high jeans. As a kid I was wearing low rise pants and now I'm quite appreciative of 90s fashion trends like that making a comeback😀
"hi, my name is Kurt. And I've had a pretty crazy life. Im a senior in high school, and I play in a garage band with my friend krist and Dave. Dave just moved here, and he plays drums, which is good because Chad just moved away to Florida. Let me tell you a bit about my summer... "
This makes me so happy.. And minutes before his demise, Kurt Cobain puts away the gun, stands up, and dares to live another day. He goes on to continue the tale of Nirvana along with his best of friends David Grohl and Krist Novoselic.
“C’mon Dad! Where gonna be late for my first day of High School.” *Camera pans away from the house to the blue sky that shows the title of an early 2000's movie.
I actually think Kurt, had he lived to hear it, would have loved this version and at least occasionally played it live. It’s actually a delightful power pop song which would have made Big Star proud.
I agree. He liked The Vaselines sound, whose songs often had a happy tone (not sure if it was exactly the major scale, as I’m no expert). So I think he would have liked this version. I believe he would have appreciated the contrast of a happier tone with the dark lyrics.
*kid skates into school* *rides past cheerleaders as title of movie and studio appears on school billboard* *rides past the “bully” holding the “nerd” upside down as money falls out of his pockets* *suddenly, music stops with record scratching noise as the main character is shoved off and laughed at by the jocks, who head to class tossing around a football in their letterman jackets as the whole school stampedes over the main character while the bell rings*
“That’s Krist, he’s my best friend and he plays the bass, and that’s Dave, he’s also my best friend. Oh, and thats Kurt, he was the least popular, and most nerdy, and most annoying person of all time. That’s me by the way, in 2004, about to have the best summer of my life. Or at least, that’s what I expected. I ended up getting a more… chaotic summer… you’ll see.”
I can totally hear this in the intro of an early 2000's Disney movie: Low-angle establishing shot of a school, skateboard hits the pavement, song fades in. Montage of stereotypical students greeting each other after the holidays. Shot of a kid laughing. Young Lindsay Lohan narration about high school. Song starts to fade out, the title appears: 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' by mediocre, middle-aged director. School bell sound. Cuts to black.
This song makes me really happy. I like to think its from a parallel universe where Kurt overcame his depression and continues to make music to this day.
Hey. My name's Jamie. I'm an average kid going through life. Today is my first day of highschool and your watching the story of how I became the most popular boy in school. *Gets hit by locker door*... Agh. But not at first... (So on so forth)
Lioness Rocker *guy shoved him into locker “You’ll never get her kid” “So then I made it my goal to win her over. What came next caught me by surprise”
*"Hey Nerd"* *Popular group that are assholes* *Freaky ass teacher* *My dog ate my homework* *That Best Friend* *DWEEB* *over done face expressions* *the edgy kid with flame t shirt (maybe not)*
And that day I decided I was going to become popular by pretending to date my popular best friend who is a girl but we grew up together so there’s no way we’d actually fall in love....uh oh! But wait! We did. That did happen.
*pre-teen boy is riding to school on a skateboard* “Whoa watch out!!” *Almost rides skateboard into oncoming traffic but stops* “Wooaaahhh thanks guys! Haha” *Camera pans out as pre teen boy walks in to school and narrators voice starts talking about pre teen boys upbringing*
@@adriantrusca1245 Learn how to recognise a joke, grow up. Edit: And even then, you are factually wrong, since the existence of multiple universes is a serious scientific theory.
Oh, and before anyone calls bullshit, I ask that you look for the pre-Butch Vig version or a live performance of the song before Nevermind dropped. You'll hear the differences immediately.
"And after the crew and I stopped Businesscorp. Inc. from destroying the old skatepark, with our victory came the end of summer, and with that I had to say goodbye to the Kool Kid Klub, since I was moving to a new city and school; and I had to say goodbye to my childhood friends. 'Will I ever see you guys again?' I asked. just as I got on the car. Jake answered 'Even if we can't see each other in a long time, be sure that you will remain forever in all of our hearts' Everyone nodded agreeingly. I got on the car with tears in my eyes; as the car started I looked through the back window to wave goodbye to my friends. Everyone had gathered to wave me goodbye: Linus "The Bull" Bronxton, Billy Tedson, even old lady Oldsmile was there; and in front, were my friends. That's when I knew that I would never forget them. That's when I knew that we had the Teen Spirit within us all along." **This song starts playing, credits roll as the car deives into the sunset.** Fucking instant classic.
This has been re-worked significantly, if you just straight up majorised (that's not a word...) it, you get what Oleg Berg made of this song...something very strange.
That’s krist, he’s been my friend for a while now and we’re pretty close, That’s Dave, I’m only just met him but he’s a really good drummer so I think we are really gonna get along, And that there, over at the front desk, that’s Courtney *sighs* oh Courtney *teacher slams desk* Teacher: Kurt! Stop daydreaming and get on with your work *sighs*, I’m not like the other kids, and here’s the story of how my life, was about to change, forever
@@mjkg6026 You know how I can tell you're just jumping on the bandwagon of the other guy's opinion? The original comment you replied to doesn't even imply any of the things you've said about how drugs work and I'm willing to wager that's not even the point, anyways. It's a simple exchange between someone and his therapist, the joke follows a very well known format that is very popular in social media all around the internet and by your _knowledge_ of how they work, the joke would still make as much sense as it does now. Both you and the other guy nitpicking the joke have made *a lot* of assumptions on the context of the joke, and of the song for that matter. For one you've both interpreted the song as being "happy" and are projecting that opinion onto what was said. For two you've both interpreted the joke as being about feeling happy and not being a bit emotionally numb, as antidepressants often do. For three you've both decided to become all high and mighty about a lighthearted attempt at comedy. Even then, the whole point of a joke is to make someone else laugh, and it doesn't need to make sense to accomplish that.
Good Ending: Kurt managed to shake off his sucuidal tendency while on heroin and decided to head back to rehab. Years later Nirvana became the most popular band to ever exist in the entire history of mankind.
@@lux3793 no he wasnt Cobain came up with the song's title when his friend Kathleen Hanna, at the time the lead singer of the riot grrrl band Bikini Kill, wrote "Kurt Smells Like Teen Spirit" on his wall. Hanna meant that Cobain smelled like the deodorant Teen Spirit, which his then-girlfriend Tobi Vail wore.
Louis Lerner I know that, I wasn’t talking about Kurt, I was talking about the guy above “mister marinho” that the sweat was a reference to the teen smell
"My name is Kurt and this is the story of the best summer! I was at Aberdeen high school, pretty boring there. Thats my class! *shows class and then a girl who is slowly looking at Kurt with a smile* And this is Courtney... the most beautiful girl on the World! It was a normal day and Italked with my two best friends Kris and Dave... *shows the 3 boys in school* (from Disney's Nirvana)
I love how this is basically the intro music for every Disney channel movie based on teenagers that live in a suburban neighborhood and ride a skateboard to school because they always miss the buss and also are the unpopular kid in school who has a crush on the hot girl/ guy in the movie who ironically has insecurities and doesn’t really fit in with the other popular kids and slowly falls in love with the somewhat awkward main protagonist as the popular kids casually bully the protagonist causing the hot insecure kid to step up for the protagonist which makes them become closer with the movie climatically ending in a school prom in which the protagonist gets on stage and shows everyone that they’re actually a music prodigy causing the mean kids to get mad and storm out of the prom or they get ironically publicly humiliated by falling into a punch bowl or something and then the main protagonist and the hot insecure kid end up making out and having a happily ever after moment.
