Nintendo is a company run by corporates and they don't necessarily care for or owe anything to the consumers who buy the games and merch, they just want their money, customers are a [insert currency here] sign to them. If you are referring to fictional Nintendo as portrayed in this arc though and the style of the games they make I see where you're coming from. Im not antagonising Nintendo btw, it's just how businesses are, and Nintendo has done plenty of legal take downs in real life with Pokemon Uranium, AM2R (Metroid 2 Remake), de-monetized people who record footage of their games and sued many ROM sites for providing their old games for emulators (the emulators themselves are legal though). When I First saw the thumbnails fir these videos I kind of thought Nintendo had taken legal action on SMG4 for using Nintendo property in his YT videos, and that the videos were a last hurrah send off for the channel. Of course in a real scenario Luke probably wouldn't even have the chance to do that and it would have ended abruptly with no arc, and its interesting that the whole arc is a parody of law and copyright in itself rather than an actual legal issue. Plus as shown in the wiki part and the last 2 videos, SMG4s videos are of course parody so they fall under fair use. Even after 10+ years and 6 million subscribers and starting an animation company, the big N haven't come after SMG4, either because they don't see him as a threat to their profits or they don't know about him nor pay any attention anyway, plus the series has changed so much and cut so many corners that it's almost unrecognisable to how it started and as WOTFI says: "Hardly the same Mario", I think the amount of OG characters and character re designs and re voicings go a long way in aiding that, from Meggy turned human, to concluding her Splatfest arc in the movie, to getting her own voice and show for example. She was always an OG character but just based loosely off of splatoon, whereas now she is her own thing albeit with a similar colour scheme. But now she feels separate from Nintendo, despite being friends with SMG4s version of Mario. Other than that Luke and Kevin can do what they want with her character without legal issue, much like with Tari and Meta Runner. Other than that, this arc was the final push to differentiate SMG4 the character from Mario, resulting in him having a permanent redesign, I imagine this wasn't overly necessary with the other nintendo characters used being protected by parody law, but I suppose it helps SMG4s case since he now looks like a self insert character, rather than the whole channel being represented by Nintendo's own mascot and a colour swap clone of him, all while having the familiar overalls and cap that remind everyone of his roots as a Mario fan and his past similarity to Mario at the same time.

Lawyer Kong is either a living NFT agent planted in Nintendo or is actually Radio Demo who involuntarily worked for Nintendo as community service for hate speech but after Meggy fought back against his claims, because Radio Demo hates Splatoon and absolutely LOATHES Meggy in particular, this is probably nothing more than a petty revenge scheme at the cost of SMG4’s channel getting liquidated into Nintendo and Demo getting away scot free…

@@RemLasher77 Radio Demo is a character created by FamineSkull who by character hates what he calls cancer and he particularly HATES Splatoon. During a TF2 talent show collab Meggy stole Radio Demo's spotlight during his audition and it was there he stated the reason for his loathing of Splatoon.

To be honest this arc doesn't really have a villain per se, aside from the obvious 4th wall breaking, lawyer kong is just a businessman with interests in nintendo, much like miyamoto he may have only seen one side of the story with the characters which makes him biased. Other than that though, he is just funky long in a suit, not just in appearance/concept but also in personality, as he literally reverts back to normal funky kong when he loses the case in wotfi 2022,k leaving Miyamoto to make the final verdict as judge kirby in disguise. Its unclear if he was possessed by some higher power, or if miyamoto was concerned about his characters in universe being absent. Though I think the latter as either lawyer long or miyamoto in the first arc epsiode smg4 gets sued says mario hadn't been in a game since odyssey in universe (working with smg4 since then to the present day), and hired kong to investigate the issue. I think they just got the wrong idea because smg4 tried to hide mario and then meggy made the mistake of going lawyer mode and getting on nintendo's wrong side by rebuking their IP claims.

Maybe so, but unfortunately, most of their games seemed rather...post-modern, to reference a Game Theory. Melony Sleeping Simulator? I guess that's a game if you want it to be, but Nintendo has never gone for those types of games. As far as I can tell, they try to provide something that is undoubtedly a video game, that is undoubtedly fun. But, uh, anyone remember Rock Simulator? Yeah, that's not really a game unless you want it to be. When Nintendo tries to be funny, it's through actual comedy, not through irony....Any of this making sense?

Had something at the start when he was going to sign it( won’t even try to spell it) then went into a less than mid game thing and broke all the tension it had and meggy and smg4 don’t seem like worried half the time, most of the time,all of the time like they have tension and the 5 seconds later break

i feel like this arc is fundamentally broken because of how inconsistent the rules of what counts as an OC or not are just all over the place and it in turn makes the main antagonists motive straight up stupid because it becomes a plan of self deletion.

meggy kinda was as well since she was based on a splatoon inkling until she’s now that form that’s why she survived a little longer (smg4 based himself on mario too but smg3 was based on smg4 so he dies early)
