What a timing, i mean i had a close case of paranoic psychosis (not me, just in the family). Scary when a person starts to talk about a danger they can only perceive and are really convinced thats real. Even when there is no conection between the evenrs or logic behind them . Good review.

I love this movie because I see that Arlington Diner every time I drive to work. Jersey bias.

"The Horror is a metaphor for truama." Is to this era of movies what "Slashers punish promiscuity" was to the 1980s. Its over used, and derivative. Even having freaky faces is pretty well trodden territory by now and when this movie came out. It seems like the idea of the mental health metaphor is an excuse for lazy writing to avoid criticism.

Cats are usually safe, but bunnies get the pot.

All the "mental health professionals" in this novie are so awful

The birthday party scene freaking gave me chills the first time I saw it. The cat, the music, the entity sitting in the room, and Rose begging for someone to just believe her! New kitty is cute by the way.

I didn’t love their actions at the end. She was alone in a house and the demon needs a witness. If he stayed outside, didn’t come too close to the house and refused to look at her, maybe the demon can’t kill her yet? I was also annoyed that she knows he’s a cop and can track her phone, plus he knows about this property since it’s tied to her family, but chose that location anyway when she is trying to stay away from everyone. And once he got inside and saw that he was too late, he should’ve turned and ran out before the suicide. Or tackled her to try and stop her. But he just stood there as a witness and did nothing. I do understand that he may not have actually believed her. I also realize the demon could’ve gone to the nearest house or got a car to stop to complete the suicide, but Joel made it easy.
