I am actually blown away by how good they did with the mammals. I always have the feeling that getting mammals right is harder than getting dinosaurs right in a way because of the fur and because although you might have a good reference for the sounds and the animations you have to get them extremely well done or otherwise people will easily gonna notice if that makes sense. Fortunately the mammals in this game are amazing. That woolly rhino and that Smilodon and everything in general is just incredible
Originally I was interested just because of the whole prehistoric zoo theme, but THOSE BUILDING SYSTEMS, THE SCALING OPTIONS, I so wish Planet Zoo had those too
Different strokes for different folks. If it was the same animal collection, maybe. But PZ is modern day animals with immense detailing in zoo management and overall park operations. So far, PK hasn’t shown any of that. Just their animal collection and enclosure design.

Mesozoica had some terrible animal designs on top everything else. I was never really excited for it , so I never really thought that it was going to be good
I used to work for Max Wood.... he was a manipulator that would “hire “ devs, only keeping 2-3 for real, while the smaller devs would be used until they asked for pay, then dumped and blocked.
Are there any other really great games that are PC exclusives? Right now, I just have my PS4 Pro, but I plan to buy a PS5, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch 2, and 3080 ti (or 4080 ti if it's out by then) PC for games I can't play anywhere else (like Prehistoric Kingdom).
Am I the only one who is excited for Megaloceros? Hope this comes to PS4 so I can play this, because this seems so good you could probably make documentaries even with the Cenozoic animals!
I'm looking forward to Megaloceros: it's one of the few prehistoric creatures in the game that's been found in my home country (and other places, obviously) so it has a special place in my heart. Would love for them to include more distinctly Scottish beasties like Ornithosuchus, but I'm happy with the big deer :)
Finally a mesozoic park maker! Technically Wildlife Park 2 had that, but there were only around 9 animals of that time. I still want a Permian park builder.
If it interests you, I believe there are plans to have Paleozoic animals in the game post early access. I’d imagine Permian animals will make up a good chunk of them.
I always found the prehistoric big cats really weird to look at, because the way their jaw hinges with their large front teeth it would be super hard for them to bite prey. Plus their skulls look more similar to seals and walruses then the big cats of today, especially the ones which have the large 'decorative' bone jutting out from the chin. It just looks like the bone an elephant has to support it's trunk or the bone animals have to support blubber when out of the water. They're just odd is what I'm saying.
The info on the release was disappointing (I paid for beta access on Crytivo, but even that seems like it is a long way off), but these mammals are... so many lightyears beyond anything on the market currently, it is not even funny. So hyped for this game that it actually hurts.

One reason I will play prehistic kingdom. Tree and brush brushes. I suck at making realistic forests in the planet franshise. Its also very tedious. And also prehistoric creatures!!
This game looks amazing so far =D Will Prehistoric Kingdom also include animals from before the dinosaurs? It would be awesome to have like a Prehistoric bughouse with the crazy giant Carboniforous arthropods like Arthropleura and Meganeura. Some predatory Synapsids like the Gorgonopsids would fit in a modern zoo setting since they filled the same role as modern day big cats.
Crossroads 83 I’m pretty sure it will be different than that. Planet zoo literally has animals touch the other animals and they just die. And they can’t attack guests. In this game they can.
I hope they release a new demo with the mammals and some of the dinosaurs. I used to love playing the Jurassic demo about a year ago and I really want to play an updated version.
I'm also wondering what happened to their YT channel; I would really love to see the giant theropod rig with that absolute monster bird of a Rex that was used in the video. And yes.
D-RayTheBrave as much as I enjoy listening to BIS’s breakdown of the video, I’d also like to just watch the marketing footage for the animals. It’s shorter and if there is a narrator, it’s upfront facts of the game. (I don’t need breakdown videos but they’re fun to watch)
@@JBrotsis1 Agreed. They could even get creative with it and hire someone that sounds like David Attenborough to narrate the trailers by explaining features of the game whilst sounding like a nature documentary. I think 9/10 people would get the reference.
If you are able to create a simple ecosystem it will at most be bare bones. You will have to have herbivore feeders for the herbivores to survive long enough to breed. You will just have to hide them in foliage away from your eyes. As for carnivores lets hope they have fixed their AI so they don't kill everything on site and just leave them to rot.
I have the demo to this game and the carnivores will kill anything and everything in the enclosure with them if its not of their species. Lets hope they fix that atleast.
Crossroads 83 that demo is positively ancient. They’ve completely rebuilt the game since then. However, the devs stated in yesterday’s stream that you can try to create an ecosystem but it’s not what the game intends and it won’t work the way you’d like it to, unfortunately.
Longer if you consider that the core team was working on Jurassic Genetics since at least late 2013. PK grew out of JG when that project imploded in 2014.
@@Ozraptor4 best case scenario: It will be released in 2020 or 2021. Worst case scenario: released in 2023. Opinion: Release it in this year before the hype dries up . If there is any problem then the Developers can fix it later with patches and updates like what Frontier did with JWE.
JWE was based off the JP franchise and under Universal’s approval. They could only work with what they were given. Additionally, PK is PC as opposed to JWE’s console platforms. PC allows way more freedom and creative tools than consoles can, so it’s really an unfair comparison.
Crossroads 83 I mean if dinosaurs fighting animations are important to you, then sure that’s a loss. I personally don’t care about dinosaurs fighting so it doesn’t matter to me.
