@Capcom&SNK Fan may I ask why? I mean at least he is technically a god unlike Merlin or Arthur. Or even anyone from the chinese pantheon since they dont believe in gods just higher beings, which is one of the reasons why the hindi and Buddhists have their arguments on Buddha's origin
I have been loving midguardian mail on him personally when dealing with AA gods, slows them down a little when they hit you so you can close the distance while also giving a fair amount of health.
you need to see the relation ... the 6 percent by oni hunters garb are very gentle but for he has already so much mitigations on himself ... 6 percent aint so much anymore if you already have 20 percent from the passive plus atk speed redux resulting in hidden damage redux too you might want to get some flat protections or may even offensive options
thefrench1 said it well, when you already INHERENTLY stack protections and damage mitigation, OHG's numbers just don't stack up. And it's not worth building early (In Conquest) as you're not really team fighting quite yet aside from the occasional gank, which Cthulu can usually escape from quite decently if you have your 3 up. I see use for it in Arena early, however. You get your ultimate so quickly, and the whole mode is one big team fight, so OHB may be useful in early game there, and you can sell it for more CDR or damage later.
Just incase someone else hasnt said it, he has a blind spot in his ult, just behind and to the left of him. If you get attacked and focused here i recommend reverting ult immediately and dashing out
Support main here myself, but it's been like this for awhile now half the time when I see other support players they don't even build support items anymore they literally rush cool down and only care about themselves. What are playing support for if your not gonna play the role right. Not gonna lie I do this sometimes but it's more hybridy. Get your thebes sovernty heartward voidstone and etheral or either prydwen breastplate or genjis.
Supp main here, it happens because people actually dislike playing support, they rather play a solo style guardian with some utility than a tankie guardian, because of problems than rhe carry sucks, you are always behind, saltines for your teammates foe taking kills by accident, and because you have to do an impact in a teamfight, plus anything bad happens: Is your fault.
It's a very recent development in the pro league. It's not necessarily about people disliking support either, those pros have been support mains for ages. It's basically about stat efficiency, I'll make sure to get out the video soon!
I was using the build that you and frost had been talking about with void shield and it absolutely shreds Cthulhu late game. You can kill him super fast when he Ults.
I feel like he dies at lvl 2 super easy because the adc can hit most of their autos on him and he gets absolutely shredded by them late game when in his ult but to other roles he feels like he makes a big impact when fighting against.
Well considering ive been maining cthulhu in solo since he came out, I straight smack ass. I smack guardian ass I smack assassin ass I smack mage ass I smack warrior ass but those adcs... they scare me
@@AnimeALX Maybe early on but if it gets to mid/late game and you build bruiser/damage you will shred them while they do next to nothing. From my experience anyways.
Yeah btw, isn't mitigation a bad thing for damage? I just threw it into google translate because I didn't know what mitigation means, and it spat out, that it basically means to make it less, for example, putting on a bandaid will mitigate the pain
@@cogahan mitigation in this game is big for Guardians because if they’re at 40% damage mitigation that means 100 damage auto hits for 60 instead / the longer the match and the more mitigation the better
Personally the gem of iso is nice but its not necessary since his mire already slows. Can instead build a different item for more damage or more protection
@@bradyv8324 youre right but usually i like to focus on making a characters stranghts better. I see how it can help to go with more damage or something else though.
Dafall next time you play try swapping gem of iso with divine ruin and build tanky. Its great for support. Im not competitive though so give it a shot and see how it goes
Just listening to the sky crack and all is the best thing ever. And by far one of the BEST hyper aggression characters in my opinion. He is everything i want in an aggressive support or solo.
( Talisman of energy-Shoes of Magi-Breastplate of Valor-Pythagorem's piece-Pridwen-Typhon's Fang.) For an Relic Cursed Ankh to make up for no anti heal. This is a very aggressive team build i came up with. You get Power, defense, some added health/Lifesteal with cooldown. Teammates gets lifesteal, attack and movement speed. Great for support roles. Can solo to very versatile.
For me. I max the two, then the one, then the three and finally, four. So far, been good during 1v1 fights. Honestly, love him more in solo then support duo. Always start on warrior's blessings on him. Builds very. This is my opinion and so far, love playing him a lot!!!
Clocked over 3 hours into him at this point. 11 matches. 91% win rate. I feel like I'm actively damaging my ability to play the game because this boy is so broken. Not that I'm really complaining because the squid is our one true lord and savior.
it has a weird learning curve. first, he would seem broken, after the counters, he would seem shit, but when people learn to profit the 3 of the ult and the taco bells night, he would seem pretty broken once more. But yeah, you can got 90% winrate in a lot of gamemodes on low-mid elo, as they re unbalanced there (ah puch or ares on assault; ares or nox on arena; ares and hou yi in joust; and aphro and ares ever (i like ares))
Oh, you have to buy the bundle for that which includes all the limited recolors of new god releases for the year. I didn't buy it though, not worth it imo. All skins are automatically unlocked in jungle practice!
So wait, if a target has 3 stacks of Torment on and you use your first ability on them, how does that interaction work? Does it apply the 4th stack then consume them in the same cast or does the enemy have to have 4 insanity stacks already on them in order to consume the stacks?
How about an attack speed build Cthulhu? It kinda capitalizes on getting torment stacks rather quickly. I tested a full attack speed build and his autos go like crazy fast. Then i removed like 2-3 attack speed items for some dmg or cdr. Damage-attack speed hybrid feels the best for me.
My tip.. get in his face when he ults similar to old Baba Yaga. Yes he has his 3 but it’s better than being spammed by his 1/2, and yes you will do less damage to him still
Some item's I've really been liking on him that I don't think were mentioned are bulwark of hope (especially when used with mantle), gem of isolation, and the forgotten item, Mail of Renewal, cd health and hp5, all good stats for him, and a heal that scales off your max health when any nearby enemy god or objective is killed, it's a ton of healing and I usually end up at full hp after I'm done ulting.
Cthulhus counter is to get in his face when he ults, getting his harder by his ult 3 is better than getting spammed by the ult 1/2, yes you will get more madness stacked on you too.
Reflect damage is kinda good since you are a huge target during the ult, however the mitigation affects how much is reflected but can be good in some situations
One question there's no way to avoid the fact that his health drops dramatically the second the battle intensifies. I mean his health will drop no matter how well you stack your damage, even in ulti form?
Don't think there are all too many, mainly because he's CC immune so something like Fen ult wouldn't work. The funniest ones I've seen were Medusa ult and Osiris ult.
My first time playing Cthulhu was in Joust and the elephant god was on the other team. He made me wanna uninstall the game cause his ability canceling abilities would piss me off so muuuuch. It’s more annoying when you’re trying to use ultimate or any ability an he just cancels you. So triggering.
essentially use the dash to get in the center of enemies turn around and blast ability one at them and then ult and spam every button except ult all to the tune of thomas the dank engine got it
the 3rd hit chain doesnt seem to connect alot, also i think they need to buff the torment duration 5 sec is really short. The only other thing i would like to see is a meter bar or a icon to know if enemy has max torment something like Baron Samdi icons
4K health with 2 health items, not counting ult extension. If you 1 everyone in sight with full cdr(which you can achieve with defensive items, which I highly recommend to stack heavily), you gain up to 30% dmg mitigation. He’s pretty much unkillable if you play right. With just the inclusion of his dash, he feels extremely mobile. All this, coupled with his heavy cc kit, means that during normal play, he’s very hard to kill. His ult shreds protections with each swipe, the knock up is useful for disrupting enemy attacks as well, the 3 is a surprisingly good support ability while also being effective against enemies. Being able to using relics in this state, alongside the aforementioned health boost, makes his ult a game changer for team fights, viable to initiate or to finish it off. Maybe I’ve just had a good few games with him, but I haven’t lost with him yet.
The Ventriloquist i found going against him as long as your carry or jungle doesnt suck and you have good burst damage he dies relatively quick. Especially early game and double especially if they build qin sais. But yeah even ill admit his health and survivability im his ult is insane. If they were to nerf him probably remove the extra health from the ult or scale it down
BradyV83 If you use his 1 correctly in the early game, you can make sure you only engage properly when you have that mitigation active. Use health pots to sustain and his early game remains pretty damn strong as long as your skill is up to par. That being said, items like soul reaver and qins are definitely trouble no matter what.
it's extremely hard to follow. Smite gamer tips and trick are like pro gives pro advice. I mean at think for player who just started with no knwoladge. It's hard to keep up....idk i am very dissapointed!
I've only been able to play one game since his release do to traveling right now but he honestly seems busted but easy to shut down with being a little creative.
First of all, him getting a whole other set of abilities in his ult was overkill. Instead of creating unique kits like DOTA2 or League, they just mash a bunch of derivative shit into a kit and release it.
The ult is more like a stance switch. There is little synergy true. Funnily enough his ults counter is to get in his face and his 3 does more damage the closer they are to him, plus the damage reduction stacking the closer you are to them
@griffith did nothing wrong I like his kit alot but its far from unique. The most unique part is the visual effect of being hit by his abilities for too long
Smite kits are very simple compared to other MOBAs because of: 1. It’s third person view. 2. It’s on consoles 3. It’s meant to be a more simple game and cater towards people who have never played MOBAs. It’s meant to be welcoming
I really like the Lifesteal boots on him in the solo lane. It’s a small amount of lifesteal but it adds up. Also the power is nice. Then I go into celestial legion helm or void stone
@@soulreaver6546 any god can be easily countered by someone. Doesn't change his bloated kit and team fight control and damage. I'm not saying he's broken but you're joking if you don't think Hi Rez will nerf him over the next few patches.
@@soulreaver6546 he is roght you know every god has a counter god playstyle or items bit it does not take away how annoying or op they are zues is a prime example he got counters but that does not take away him from doing his combo and no scope kill you and half you're team with his absurd damage
If you get creative he is honestly really easy to counter. Try having wallmaking characters such as ymir or terra. One thing in almost all of the lanes through the jungle block off his movement drastically
My three big tips to start with... First tip: play as a team. Second: stop feeding. Third: Being a bruiser or tank is fine, just stop whining about grouping up when you have no map/teammate awareness.
Can someone please sum it up for me? I’m eager to play him properly already! I’ll watch the video anyway but I don’t have the time while gaming currently.
You're making a guide for a character who will be op for weeks, until hirez will make some serious nerfs, and who will be unkillable no matter what items he will build... genius...
@griffith did nothing wrong Or he has a different view than you. Wouldn't say he is broken but he's overtuned and its clearly cause Hi Rez wanted him to be a popular God out the gate and not another baba situation.
@griffith did nothing wrong He doesn't do too bad in Solo tbh, but Qin Sais and other % health items destroy him. He's good, but he's not broken like release Bellona, I'd even go as far to say Heim may still be better. But that's just my opinion
@@texcorps9432 eh, he has a lot in his kit but he can be easily countered by a lot of gods too with only a little creativity. His damage scaling is also really bad compared to the damage of other guardians, I'd still be far more terrified of a bachus or gabrakan due to their insane cc and damage scaling.
