First time watching any PRO SMITE since playing it for a few years, fell in love with Hachiman, came to hopefully see a Hachiman, not disappointed. Very first game!
ghost built almost no anti heal in game 1. Literally why they lost the last fight, those 200 or less HP players are bc of the guan yu + efg healing. Weird to see a team this good not itemize into that but then keep chasing after your inital attack fails.
Was I the only one rooting for Ghost 🥺 I know PK were the “underdogs” but they were the defending champs... Ghost just plays sooooo efficient, it’s fascinating to watch. And their god pool is more fun to watch IMO

Easily top 3 of all time SWC sets, man! It's definitely my personal favorite but I feel like I might be missing some of the stuff before S4, so ... Top 3. Edit: I don't think this year is going to be as hype as this. I don't know if any year is going to be as hype as this, man. The narratives, the stories, the identities... Nothing this year comes even close - this is simply light-years ahead.
this 5 match set had me in shock while watching everything, trying to see all that was happening. I love the SPL and how dynamic all of the competitive teams are. PK made some incredible plays in all of their games and Ghost did just as many with their steamrolls in the early game as well as the great fights in the mid to late game. I won't lie though, Fineokay has too much arrogance by being on a team that is always top 1-2 seats in the SPL and throughout the SWC sets. He expects to just take a W and can do almost anything. Ghost has a lot of potential with Sam, panda, and PBM but this was not quite Twig's year due to the role change into Mid (similar to lasbra's failure season 6 by being forced to do the same as twig) and Fine just trolled too much in the set. I hope to see a little more refreshed roster from PBM and ghost next season. PK is a fairly well rounded team but they also make a good amount of mistakes. Zap tends to overextend a lot of the time and ScaryD brawls just a little too much most of the time. Neil is a very analytical player and chooses the fights that help the team out the most but it causes Ghost to collapse on him a little more frequently and makes the team fights a little harder to win in their favor without the support backing them up.
Fine trolled in this set? He was the best solo throughout this tournament even ScaryD admitted it in his tweet post worlds. FineO has every right to be arrogant when hes legit top 3 players currently. I'm from EU so am a sucker for EU teams/players but FineO has my respect that dude legit has the best decision making iv seen
I think everyone on Ghost blew this game and i wouldn’t blame one person. Everyone on the team just made bad calls and executed them worse. PBM made the calls, and a lot of them were not great calls causing them to get blown up, sam was missing a lot of his abilities, Twig couldn’t hit a lot of his ults, causing him to get blown away, i actually think pandacat wasnt that bad, just not that great, and fineokay won his lane everytime, but in team fights he wasnt hitting the mark.
I’d also like to add, for whatever reason, Ghost let Paul do whatever he wanted with any character he wanted, which screwed them. I would have banned Scylla after game 1, and knowing Paul’s past with the Morrigan, that could have been banned too. I just dont think they respected Paul like they should have, and Paul blew them up
Spoiler Bruh I feel like that khepri threw the game I didn't like it, PBM was playing so well as an aggressive frontline. I don't feel as if the defensive khepri was the right pick. Crazy good set from all though
So I might not be 100% correct, but I do know this set was basically prerecorded and was not live. Players' visas were gonna expire the last day of finals so they recorded the finals games earlier in the day and then the casters are essentially watching the finals for the first time when the stream went live but the games had already ended. So I think they just kind of chose a default mvp and just picked the support to film like the hammer holding and stuff before all the players with visas essentially had to leave the country.

Bruh game one could have been one. They needed not anti heal to combat that sustain. Maybe a divine on twig or pest on fine okay I think really would’ve changed the tide
I remember that even paul Nominated Neil to be MVP so, there goes that, maybe the cohesion Neil provided was much more impactful, although Paul did the plays which most mattered, i think Neil was the one providing those plays, i might be wrong tho but thats the vibe i was getting
@@jamesonedwardsii4943 Paul played out of his mind and was a beast the entire set but he alone didn't win them the games, it's the plays along with the leadership and teamwork going into it. Take for example in the last fight in game 5, alot of people were hyping Paul for that but he didn't really do anything there, he came late to the fight because he had to recall after Sam ulted him in jungle so when he arrived there was 2 low health players practically already dead and a half health khepri. That fight really was all Scary, Qvo and Neil, Paul however did the big turnaround at the last fight in Game 2 hitting Sam under their tower but after that it was the normal excellent teamwork that won them the rest of the fight. I only saw snippets of game 1 but from what I saw Neil had as many good walls as Paul did plays. I just think alot of people are discrediting Neil and act like everything was all Paul when it wasn't.

@@ryankendall3716 actually, it was only 1 cthulhu since sam took away beads and ult from paul, rendering his impact to be way lower and riskier, but the commitment PBM made forced twig to use everything on fire, which resulted in a big fail... so imma agree with you that the call to do fire was wrong there, independently that twig did a wlfy kraken.

From the way most people act in the comments you would think it was all Twig's fault. Ghost as a team made a bunch of mistakes that set, literally threw the first 2 games. Watching game 1 again fineokay also trolled and wasted their efg. Also as some people mentioned, they lost game 5 because of the call to burn fg.

who does twig kill with his kraken? he doesn't burst chuthulu especially when hes already in his ult and qvo was in the air already killing him going for fire there in their face was a horrible call especially in front of a chuthulu and kuzenbo

They have lost sets throughout the year, it just so happens they have went against this exact same team SK Gaming/Pittsburgh Knights who for whatever reason play on a different level at SWC. Once they beat SSG in a reverse sweep....I was like it's going to happen again this year. They beat the top 3 teams last year to win worlds which were Splyce, Renegades and Rival
Ghost has a thing for choking in worlds. It’s no surprise at this point. It’s like Peyton Manning. Great in the regular season, almost a god. In the super bowl? 🤮
It was not twig that did wrong, i know i said in other comments that twig did a wlfy kraken in first sight, however PBM hit frenzy, it was clear that ghost call was burn FG, thing is PK said "screw FG lets fight". Id reckon they did that fg call cuz Paul had no beads or ult, however not having a hun batz ult plus twig using everything on fire screwed ghost big time.
I'm not a ghost fanboy but ghost should have won that. They had a lead in like all of those games but they threw hard mainly twig if they didn't make dumbass calls ghost would of won
I disagree. If you listen to Barra/aggros pod, zap explicitly stated that their gameplan against ghost was to pick a late game comp. and not contest ghost in the early game. As long as ghost aren’t significantly ahead, pk should’ve had the advantage late game. Getting to late game without getting crushed is a different story though, and I agree with you there.
Game 1 I definetely don't agree. Pk executed very with their playstyle. Game 2 I agree. Ghost kinda threw for no reason. Game 3. They won in usual Ghost fashion. Game 4. Pk Should have won. Zap threw. Game 5. Ghost definetely threw.
This is literally how the handsi works. You either draft for early game monkey pressure or you draft for a late game team fight. The meta develops accordingly. Ghost tried to implement an inferior early monkey pressure meta (that's their only real identity) and PK understood better how to win the tournament. Hardly throws at that point. There is more chess going on in smite than checkers

For any ability that can be a guaranteed hit solely on skill alone, I would agree with that sentiment. But it's not possible to be 100% consistent with Thor ults on skill alone. Humans aren't psychic: if your target does a 90° turn at the exact moment of commiting to the current direction of their movement, you miss the ult. If you predict a turn by intentionally aiming it where they'd turn based on the environment, you hit the ult, but only _if they turn._ If you go back and look at *most* of the ults, you can see that the aim was reasonable for the target's direction of movement. The 90° turns at the exact moment of committing the ult lead to quite a few of those missed ults.
Johnny boy is alive! Not touched by Covid. I am so glad! I stopped playing the game because I'm on PS4, so lag was a thing, and also I have no friends to play with. But I recently came back to the game. Been watching the SPL and stuff. Glad to see Johnny boy is still with us!

Spoilers!!! I remember saying that ghost can win against PK if they 3-0 them (meaning they win 3 games in a row) otherwise pk wins... however these finals were super fire to watch! First, congrats for the back to back World champion for PK, after that reverse sweep against spacestation, they deserved to win it, not to overshadow ghost tho, they were amazing as well. Sad part is of the last game, lets be honest, the kraken twig did on fire the last fight screwed ghost over really hard, not to mention sam made Paul waste beads and his ult... i remember the wlfy kraken on S4 finals, now we have twig kraken, which is way worse tbh, cuz the damage was not even close to kill that fire, zap kinda trolling by ulting fire there too so... But alas, PK wins and imo this was greatly due to everyone contribution, and yea some big plays by scaryD and Paul. Kinda shows how much can you do with great connection between players.
Even with a kraken, ghost doesn’t win that fight. You can’t win a fight with morrigan cthulhu and camazotz all in your backline for free. Ghost needed to wait for hun batz ult to come back before pulling fire. Zap would have killed fire with his ult, but it got reset and healed ~1.5k before he grabbed it.
I don't understand why American structure tournaments the way they do, what is the point of spending 90% of your time competing in a league if it means absolutely nothing and is decided by a cup competition?
