I’m nervous in a completely new way. I want you to feel the song. To feel her through it. I want to take you to that moment on the terrace when she first heard it. To describe to you how it feels to be thrown between hope and despair. I want to place you on my shoulder and have you experience the moment when she calls me on Skype while I’m in the studio. At first, it’s small talk. But by now she is unable to smile, and she says, “I promised to tell you when the day was not far away. I think it's time for you to come home now." I want to convey to you how exasperating undramatic death can be. There is no symphony orchestra or light at the end of the tunnel. It is just a tired, speechless family gathered around the kitchen table playing Yatzy. / Maria Jane Smith
/Maria Jane Smith

► Lyrics
In a couple of weeks
Your hair will fall to the ground
All that silver’n blonde
You saved for so long
And In a couple of months
We’re gonna walk through the doors
Inside the hospital walls
Your verdict will fall
But for now we just keep praying
To a god we try to belive in
And there’s a lot of people saying
That it’s all bout positive thinking
So I make you drink your vitamins
And we try to keep you laughing
Meditation helps
And have you ever felt
Two hands that practice healing?
Ah ah..
Then we cried ah ah ah..
Wanna ease your pain
But what can I say
Wanna play a game?
And we played yatzy
All night long
And Just like with your life
We counted the odds
And the kids where laughing
When we let them win
Please have mercy
Cause they dont know a thing
And we played yatzy
All night long
And just like with your life
We counted the odds
But one thing is certain
It aint your time to go
We just need a full house
And five sixes in a row
And i asked you to tell
Is there something you miss?
Tell me what do you wish
Do you have a bucket list?
You said
You already swam with dolphins
And there’s not anywhere you wanna climb
It aint like missing out on wild things
Is what keeps you up at night
You said all that you want
Are the simpelest things
Just for your body to bare
And to stay with your kids
But for now we just keep praying
To a God we try to belive in
And there’s a lot of people saying
That it’s all bout positive thinking
So i make you drink your vitamins
And we try to keep you laughing
Meditation helps
And have you ever felt
Two hands that practice healing?
Ah ah..
Then we cried ah ah ah..
Wanna ease your pain
But what can I say
Wanna play a game?
And we played yatzy
All night long
And just like with your life
We counted the odds
And the kids where laughing
When we let them win
Please have mercy
Cause they dont know a thing
And we played yatzy
All night long
And I’ve never wished more
Not to write a song
But one thing is certain
It aint your time to go
We just need a full house
And five sixes in a row
