@@jamesmoore1341 Reading/re-reading your post & others reminded me that Jerry Miculek, to the best of my recall, did not have a negative thing to say re: the SW FPC. Now, for the sake of full disclosure & honesty: without re-watching the Honest Outlaw vid/test, only the part about the spare mag release in the stock sticks out in my mind. Minor item, I know. Jerry M. tweaked the Moss 940 S/G into the JM 940 Pro, so I figure he knows guns, especially shotguns. I don't know if his work on the 940 makes him a Mossberg "Company" man or not; really doesn't matter to me.

Buying a M&P handgun is cheaper and more reliable than this PCC there's simply no place for it when the handgun varient of the M&P goes for almost the same price. If this PCC and the pistol were compatible other than magazines then the price would be worth it. I'd be interested in what the total cost (Gun + Upgrades) is that many folks put into their Sub2000 with MCarbo type upgrades to get themselves what they believe to be a decent workable carbine versus how much value the S&W FPC offers straight out of the box. It wouldn't surprise me to find that adding multiple upgrades to the Sub2000 ends up costing considerably more than the FPC. From a quality and durability standpoint there is little doubt that the S&W is made better. I love the Sub2000 concept, but I think they went too far with using plastic for too many things that should have remained made of metal. For starters who else would use a plastic feed ramp?

Same, I found that the old school reload in which you bring the stock to your hip and reload with your firing hand works better; like how you’d reload an M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, M14. Cool PCC. The folding lever/mechanism unlocking during firing, the ability to over insert mags, and the charging handle reciprocating are things to keep an eye on but it having just a Black Oxide finished barrel kills it for me. Will look forward to the 2.0.
@ixnorp4270
@ixnorp4270 Год назад
The charging handle in a correctly functioning FPC does not reciprocate. There is a small latch that extends from the lower back end of the polymer body underneath the receiver tube and catches the front of the charging handle, thereby keeping the handle in place. So either his rifle's catch is inop or missing (he might have a pre-production example that just doesn't have it), or he isn't using the rifle correctly.

Is Smith & Wesson just keltec 2.0 now? I will say this much, it does seem to be a considerable improvement over the Sub2000, more mass for reduced recoil, what looks to be the M&P 2.0 grip that is customizable with different backstraps, a charging handle that is reminiscent of an AR charging handle, in addition to a last shot lock open mechanism and a sight mount that does have to be removed or swiveled out of the way to make it fold. All it's missing is the ability to change the type of magazine you can use with it like the Sub2000 Multi Mag varient or the Ruger PC carbine do.

Eric , The charging handle is definitely reciprocating at 13:21 on the video ,it's not going far maybe 3 inches back, but it is moving backward , I shot one yesterday and that was the first thing that I noticed about the rifle , it was very accurate that's for sure !
@ExtremeSquared
@ExtremeSquared Год назад
Yeah, that's sort of weird behavior. It's clearly not fully-reciprocating with the bolt. It might just be non-reciprocating non-latching, which would make it move with friction. Very clear at 19:50

@@ExtremeSquared On Sootch00 video of this gun, the charging handle does not move when he if firing it.. I think Eric got a lemon..with the handle moving and the latch problem.

I'm guessing a review embargo lifted today because EVERY "Guntuber" released their review of this firearm within an hour of each other it seems. LOL! That's not a bad thing. It seems to be generally well received by all the reviewers thus far. Not perfect or anything but a very good option for PCC.

The only way to “over-insert the magazine” is to use a > 15 round mag without the spacer, then hold the mag release button down while you’re seating the magazine. Not an issue at all.

The size is a bit of an issue, not really able to fit in a backpack is its major drawback. If they made it able to accept a lawman tactical folder then it would be ideal.

I wish Kel-Tec would do a sub 2000 in .45acp. Set up for 1911, mags. I have mine set up for Beretta 92fs mags. I love the gun. I am seriously considering this S&W too. Two is one and one is none.

Actually the Hipoint carbine can be modified to take 1911 mags, for a cheap cheap pcc in 45. No folding but still pretty compact

The deal breaker for me is no iron sights. Call me old fashioned, but I believe all guns except shotguns should come with iron sights.

it's refreshing to see innovation coming from more manufacturers, but I think this will live in the shadow of the sub2K simply because the Kel-Tec is available in Glock magazine configuration.

Great first look!! Thank you. I was looking at the Sub2000, I don't like the polymer trigger system, but I do like the Glock mags which is what I'm oriented for. Both look like viable options for a concealed carry.

Just picked one up and the first thing I noticed is they used the compact pistol grip instead of the full size. Stupid move! If you use the full size mags that don't have the little spacer, you have a gap that can pinch the hell out of your little finger! Second they should have extended the pic rail on the grip portion so you can mount a rear sight. Third, why not just include a flash suppressor?

I'm not sure why companies keep making shoulder fired 9 mm or why customers keep buying them. 9 mm is too big for rabbit or squirrel and it's too small for deer And probably hog. About the only thing you can shoot with the 9 mm is targets and people. We all have 9 mm for self defense. But what percentage of the 9 mm actually get used for their intended purpose. I bet it's less than 1%. Something like this rifle would be cool and like a 45 ACP Or 10 mm.

Heads up everybody, I have been releasing the bolt catch on the FPC with my thumbnail on my offhand. Yes it was a full magazine every time. Enjoy! No, I did not have the nasty long thumbnails.. lol also, you can lift the lever on the same side of the stored magazine that you desire, and it will slide out into your hand just by keeping the nose of the barrel slightly downward.
