Unboxing the new Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0 METAL! Also have a bonus "The Competitor" has arrived. Great new additions to the M&P family. There is a bonus outtake at the end. (Sorry about the audio in the first part. Got a few bugs to work out.

The metal will fit any holster made for the 2.0 polymer version but the 1.0 was slightly slimmer at the top of the slide. Good looking pistols for sure. I just wish they would have came stock with optic height sights

I think we've moved well outside the EDC realm with these beauties! I really like what S&W has done with the metal frame - those familiar metallic sounds you don't hear with polymer guns. Now if S&W would just add a firing pin with the serial number engraved on the tip and send some to California!

That's a nice looking gun. I just picked up a canik rival for my first pistol, was a little disappointed cuz the next day I seen they're releasing the rivals with all steel frames and a stainless steel model looks sick

The box itself is a bit lack luster, you'd think for the price you'd get an actual case. Definitely plan on picking one of these up fairly soon. Once I make sure I can get 10 round mags thanks to my lovely state of NY. I think I prefer the look of the Metal over the competitor, I feel like it would be a little easier to carry without the Magwell and having a slightly shorter barrel. Are the slides interchangeable? It almost looks like they would be.

The frame is machined out on the bottom of the Competitor. Won't work on the standard metal.

Do you think the 4.25in with the weight can go AWIB?.... They say the trigger guard is slightly thicker than on the polymer version so unless the holster has adjustable retention they may not all work.

I called S&W, it's not available with suppressor height sights. I spoke to Trijicon and they said the CORE sights will work for co-witnessing optics, but I can't find any. I may have to order direct from Trijicon. I have a Competitor ordered for testing as a duty pistol. I currently carry an STI DVC Omni, but also carry a ZEV OZ9 KC Eusebio. I expected a better trigger on the ZEV than what it has. I did try a standard M&P 2.0 Metal and the trigger on that one (fresh out of the box) is ALMOST 1911 crisp, a dramatic improvement over Glock or even the ZEV. Of course none compare to the STI, but the S&W is a quarter the price of a new Staccato. Magazines are different due to the magwell also.
