Amother verse to support the above message (God also gave it to me in the most recent days, "for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls" - 1 Peter 1:9. So many times we look at a promise for something in particular, let's say healing or favor with others, and we have only as our goal what was promised or what we have in Christ without realizing our more important goal is the salvation of our soul. We need to change first. Then the outward will also change. So many people want to be blessed but are ignorant of the fact that we need to learn to see ourselves blessed, to have a true transformation like what happened to Caleb and Joshua, not overnight, but it's wilderness learning to live not by bread alone but by every word that comes from God's mouth. We see the tragic results of those who neglected this. In the wilderness most of the Israelites complained, found fault with God, did not take the time to learn to feed upon the Word and trust God. And they were given many chances, for God had already over and over showed the wonders of his love and kindness. So they did not enter the promise land.
