Only way is remember all locations then visit all spots till you find eruption. If it is possible to change the window size to portrait, you can find spot more faster, but im not sure how.

Exp earned from smithing bar is pity, so need to make some equipments.

It's impossible to craft these jewelries, so the later is correct. Make some necklace or something from em to earn Huge XP.

Yes

You need to smith something from that Gold bar to gain plenty of XP. XP from smithing bar itself is very tiny.
