Sad to say that when I say SML to people the first thing they say is, " Oh you mean Jeffy?" I wish SML got more popular due to his quality videos and not his cash cows.
Honestly I think the reason why jeffys homework was number 2 was probably because it was the first time we saw jeffy swear and it was funny but sadly they made jeffy keep swearing and now it's not funny anymore :/

joebob13453 sorry for the late response, but it's because his new jokes are targeted towards kids, or he has really "edgy" jokes. Most people think edgy means cool, but it actually means modern.
It's not all jeffy, however I'd say Jeffy is 80% of the reason. I didn't like V1 stage Jeffy at ALL. V2 Jeffy was the best in my opinion. Jeffy got the most character development and became somewhat funny. V3 is in the middle. Jeffy cusses WAY TOO MUCH and it's not that funny except for some funny parts. Also my favorite character in my opinion is by far Chef Pee Pee.
Train #4 completely agreed, that was why jeffy homework was funny because they used Jeffy swearing in a funny way now they just use it all the time, it's pretty much jeffy language at this point, though I love SML even I can say Jeffy is can be really annoying.
the best part of bowser Jr's nerf war was the ending when it seemed like jeffy was winning Mario just came out of nowhere to take jeffy down and Mario finally got his revenge at least for now
I miss the old SML when Shrek was popular and Mama Luigi was the fan favorite along with Tony, Woody, Mr.Pig, etc. before a 12 year old that is mean to the main character and always cusses him out boosted up his channel. Jeffy ruined SML.

Chef pee pees birthday surprise is my favorite video.Junior cared about chef pee pee and chef pee pee was great fun for what he did.And it made up for a shit video.I love this video.

Here's my Top 10 Best SML videos of all time 10. Ratatouille: Ratatouille is one of my favorite Pixar movies besides Wall-E and Toy Story 3, despite my dislike to Chef Pee Pee, he along with Remy, Bowser, and BTG was pretty funny, in fact the jokes were very good as well as the plot, the reason it's at the bottom of the list is because I don't like Remy's voice in this video, a little to British compared to the movie. 9. Bowser Jr's Summer Vacation: This video had a funny plot along with Jr acting like a 2 year old which was hilarious, the jokes were top-notch and I feel happy for Jr at the end. 8. The Jeffy The Rapper series: I know, these are Jeffy videos and I have two videos but their both the same thing, I love Jeffy's rapping in these videos, it's so catchy that I feel like dancing to it, the jokes were also pretty good, and while the plot could have been better in both videos, their were still in my opinion the best Jeffy videos. 7. Chef Pee Pee's Birthday Surprise: Without a doubt, Chef Pee Pee's best video, I feel bad for him with Bowser not even caring about his birthday, Jr and his friends were also very nice to him in the video for once, the jokes were very nice and the plot is outstanding 6. Bowser Jr's Game Night 5: It had a good plot, top-notch humor and my favorite part was the Prove It part, Jr's rant on Big Hero 6 was freaking hilarious, this video is definitely the best of the Game Night series. 3. Bowser Jr's Broccoli Problem: Incredibly funny, with a good plot and Jr acting like and idiot turned out hilarious. 2. The reason why Jeffys Homework was a good video was because we never saw Jeffy like that and the jokes were new but now it's annoying because it happened over and over until Logan got criticized for it.
