Had to use a 3rd party software to update the Alien to the newest, this got it out of the brick (but put the authentic smok software inside) But as doing this the replacement mod came so now have a gold one Let me know if you want videos of these things etc (message me) or comment lol I forgot there was even a comment section guys
Hi, could you send a link to the 3rd party software you used to get it working. I've tried all the methods in the comments here but nothing seems to help. Can't get ahold of Smok to approve a replacement either.
Omg that worked for me I kept taking the batters in and out multiple times and clicking the side button to turn it on and putting it on the charger and it turned on !!! I’m leaving it on the charger now to charge fully before I use it

I had the same thing happen to mine a couple weeks after purchasing it. Whenever I would change the batteries the mod would not turn back on. I found that the tiny little pin in the battery area was malfunctioning. If I push it in and out several times and then put the batteries in it usually works. Sometimes I have to do it several times, but it would eventually work. I did send mine in to exchange it because it was still under warranty. If you're able to exchange/return it, I would.

P. O. S. I've had nothing but problems out of these skyhooks. Bought me and the wife each one. She's luckily still using her second one after returning the first after it wouldn't come on. I'm on my fourth that just stopped coming on the other day and I'm past warranty now by a week. No more Smok for me.
I'm soo fed up with it, I just threw it against cement wall and bashed it into many little pieces and finished it off with a hammer until it was unrecognizable. I feel much better now.
i bought a smok species couple of months ago used it for a day didn’t like it and packed it up and put it away. Now i thought i’d give it another go but it won’t charge or turn on. It lasted a good few hours is all.
I too have the same problem, I solved with fonzie method, put the batteries, the ride upside down, and I give him 'a nice hit on the ground. then it goes on and off normally. Italian artisan methods, unorthodox but effective... Please, if The smok if you keep us updated answers.
1- take the batteries and atomizer off 2- hit the 510pin several times softly. 3- put the batteries and atomizer back on. 4- click power button 5 times and start the device. 5- Boom ! problem solved.

My fellow alien owners, mine did the same thing, i found out the problem is actually with the battery door...believe it or not my mod wont work if the battery door is completely closed. I actually have 2 leave it open a bit....it sux bcuz i usually hafta play with how open it is b4 it works
453/5000 ATTENTION!!! The problem is simple to solve. It happens to remove the batteries with the Smok Alien running. Never do that! To repair, remove the batteries and connect your Smok Alien to the computer. Keep the fire button pressed for about 3 minutes. A screen will appear written: Smok Alien VB1.0.2 and then a TV type screen will appear off. This will reboot the system. Ready! Insert the batteries and turn on your Smok Alien normally.
Well for mines the problem started after I took out the batteries while my mod was on. I took it out real quick to change my batteries because that pair was dead. But then all of a sudden it wouldn't start back up no matter what I put in.
Hi. I know that this is already 3 years since this video has been released but I've just fixed mine. I was struggling with this for long time. I've found a temp solution to use the aluminium film pads to extend the connection. It worked for a while but then the mode died for good (until today). When I've disassembled the whole mode, I have discovered that the positive wire from the battery connector was broken. I have soldered it and it's working again. hopefully for longer. I hope that this will help. Thanks
i got one broken to fix up (don't turn on) just done update firm ware no change even though it said upgrade successful , so no screen on and no atomizer attached having now took battery's out they are quite warm ,warmer than when charging so this dead mod ain't as dead as its making out so be careful DON'T leave your battery's in your possum playing mod... update no battery's in usb connected to laptop mod case getting warm..
If the micro usb port (or the charging port) for the mod appears to be broken, can you still use the mod with rechargeable batteries if you charge them somewhere else than the actual vape? Or is the mod completely useless now? Because the wires in the port appear to be bent, and I'm not sure if it still charges.
Guys my Alien was the same I tried one hour to open at last plugged to the pc and try to open again and first was screen is blurry and after got back to life by it self ı am so happy right now
This happened to me just now... took out the batteries and plugged it to the computer. screen came right away, inserted the batteries again with it plugged to the computer gave it a minute and it works again :)
My mag mod won't turn on, but when I take the batteries out and put em back in the screen turns on for a second then shuts off, I tried charging it but it still doesn't turn on, do I need new batteries?
Pot Head is there a stealth mode on the mag? If so that could be the issue but I’m not too familiar with the mag, I just know the pain of the mod just randomly stopping
same problem! fixed. take the tank off (leave the batteries inside), turn it up side down, give it a hit on a table or a hard surface. mine turned on after 4th attempt. IT WILL TURN ON.
This has happened to me twice now... Wasn't stealth mode both times. Is there a Smok model out there that doesnt have this issue and is just as powerful as the 220w?
My screen went black after only 3 day after purchase. The tank is crappy I think, leaking all the time. I concluded that somehow e-juice must have leak through the vent holes causing the circuit board to fry out. Why not treat this as if it was a phone that had liquid damage... Yep. So I put it in a bag of rice overnight. Took me two tries,_------ but the device is working now-----... lets just see how long it last. Not sure it will work for all, but it worked for me...Hope this helps.
Having the same problem with my alien. IT won't turn on for anything battery's are brand new, just bought the mod 2 days ago and its already fucked. Called Smok, they said they cant replace it because they have ran out of alien's and cant send one till April. Thank for nothing Smok.
Afzer the display failed for a couple of days mine just self ignited, BEWARE ! luckily i had high amp batteries in there and could remove them quickly enough.
Have you tried using the original charging cable supplied with mod? We had the same thing happen to our VB version after using a Samsung cable. It worked again after doing this.
it is my 4th months using it, i got this problem. After an hour trying everything, changing bateries, gaving hits a little on the table, touching the sensors under bateries, removing all parts, putting it into refrigerator(xD-dont ask why)... well, after try everything, it is finnaly working again! i dont know why!
if you charge your mod through the USB port it will damage your motherboard and perhaps destroy it. You have to use an external charger, not charge it through the USB port, the USB port is meant for updates only.
My manual for my smok t priv never said to use external charger and mines bricked idk how to fix it i only had a cord it came with anyways so how was i supposed to charge it? Somone plz help
Many dead batteries...I Kno when I have batteries that are really dead it won't just come on...even when charging...and I have the 220wtc silver on silver....but again....just saying
i was given a total dead battery that took ages to charge it did come on much to my annoyance though but i bought a mag 270 i can use the baby alien tank on that
angel witchywilding you charged it 2 days . I charged mine for hour and it started to get hot . I got scared that i thought it might blow up . Did it showed something on screen while charging ?

I have hadd mine for 2days and nou it doesnt work... Yesterday i did charge it over the night an when i woke up the screen was dead and it wont turn on
seriously getting this thing bricked is so stupid and mine got bricked because of updating the firmware so yeah and theres nothing telling me how i can fix this
