I have done this three times now. Everyone loves them soooo much there are never any left. Hint I cut my cooked eggs in half to allow the smoke to get to the yokes too. AWESOME
You all prolly dont care at all but does anybody know a way to log back into an instagram account..? I was stupid lost the account password. I love any tricks you can give me.
@Moshe Leland Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im trying it out now. Takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Way to pull our legs about those bacon bits. Very inventive grilling rather than boiling those eggs and you cooked them perfectly. The result looks really outstanding.
That's totally different from the smoked eggs recipe I have from another smoker guru the eggs come out OK but over smoked!! Even if you change the smoking time I'm gonna try your technique on my yonder. Thanks so much
Where do you usually set the variable displacement damper for most of your cooking on the YS640? Also do you remove the heat diffuser when you do the cold smoke after turning on the fan? I Love all the great recipes and tips, it has stepped up my smoking game nicely!!! Thanks, looking forward to hearing from you. Troy
Hey tom, got a question for you: How do you know when there is enough/not enough/too much smoke for a certain item of food? Is it a trial and error type of thing, an experience or common sense type of thing, or just winging it sometimes and hoping for the best? That being said interesting recipe. Would never have thought of doing this and would definitely like to try it this summer
I know this is a BBQ site and the last thing I need is to poke a hornet's nest but the egg cooking would be even better if they were Sous Vide for you can really control the outcome and also it really makes it easy to peel the shell. Everything else would be the same and I will be doing this recipe next week and give you full credit. This is a great item for Memoerial Day. Thanks
I saw a recipe online today where they smoke raw eggs with the shell on at 225 for two hours. I'm skeptical; anyone know if the hot smoke could actually penetrate the shell?
No, the smoke really can't get through. But on a hot day, cooking the eggs in the smoker keeps from heating up the house and adding humidity from boiling them.
Yes sir! But in all seriousness, we are working on some more breakfast recipes. We've done fried chicken and waffles, and I believe we did the Pulled Pork Waffle Sandwich as well... which is more of a brunch item, but we'll do some more breakfast recipes soon.
Recipe turned out amazing, but all My eggs exploded on my kamado joe indirect - I would not recommend doing that part- thankfully I had another dozen and boiled them normally
Beside all that without the grill just go get some liquid smoke boom ppl could never tell if you grilled it or not easy an quick if you got something else to do
