This is a simple look at the bbq fundamentals of smoking a brisket for the first time. I stick to the basics in this video and concentrate on the simple steps to achieving great smoked brisket every time. We'll go over fire management, trimming, injecting, dry-rubbing and spraying brisket. I'll be cooking this bbq brisket recipe on an Oklahoma Joe's offset smoker. I even divulge a big secret to resting the briskets for optimal juiciness. Thanks for watching!
Best,
Shane

I keep coming back to this video to refresh my memory. This is the best way I have found to smoke a brisket. Peaster and Peters told me about your products and videos. Now I send all my guests that try your food to your website and youtube channel. Good luck and keep making that hog's bane. The new habanero is outstanding as well!

My stomach is rumbling after watching that brisket. Will give the bologna a try.

You should try raw linseed oil on the smokers exterior as it forms a better patina ! Should give you a longer lasting coat of protection.

I do use it sometimes, but I use boiled linseed oil. Here's a video where I use it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pYjMjcJlQP0.html

New resident to Stilly. Seen your product in Homeland. Came here to talk shit. The only thing i can find is your pronunciation of bologna. Haha. Everything else is spot on.. i did indeed flood my kitchen with FOUR briskets in my oven finishing up. Nor i finish in the easy oven (pellet grill) six in sticks finished on pellets. Good job. I will definitely try your rub next time. This time im doing a jack daniels themed memorial party. So injected with jack n coke and a jack daniels rub from academy. Great video man. Lets smoke sometime.

Party is at 3:00pm and you let the brisket rest overnight. Slice at 7am. What do you do between 7am and 3pm? Cool then reheat? Also, did you put the sliced brisket into the foil pan with all drippings?

I would slice, place in a foil pan, refrigerate and reheat in a 350F oven until just warm! I would not put it back in the drippings. Thanks for watching!

Excellent information! I've given up trying to smoke using wood at altitude as managing heat is nearly impossible (and wildfire risk is a consideration) so it's electric or propane for me. P.S. You convince me to try smoked Bologna for 4th of July.

Good luck with the bologna, it's great stuff! If you're ever looking for a long-burning charcoal smoker that is easy to maintain temps on, a Weber Smokey Mountain is a great choice too!

Can you show a video on fire management over a long cook?

Do you still vent your brisket before leaving it in the oven overnight?

That's a homemade smoker I bought and modified years ago.
