Only GOD can tell whats haram, in Kuran there's nothing about this, so, nobody can tell that smoking or shisha is haram. In arabic countries shisha is very popular, and they don't have any harm because of it.
GOD also gave you a brain to use and know if something is addictive and harms your body in a type of way then you should stay away from it because it’s haram. if arab countries normalised it then that doesn’t make it any right or concludes your judgement on smoking.

Like some who raises there head off the prayer rug and asked for forgiveness like everything we do I’m going to leave this conversation and ask Allah to forgive me if I made any mistakes. InshaAllah that’s a good step to perfect what we do and not lose our deeds. Even any Haram in the past will be in my scale of good deeds after repenting. We want all the weight we can get in our scale of good deeds. Bismillah.
Faith I understood for a few teachings of The, The Peace and Blessing of The Lord be with him. That no one will have attained faith until they love Our Creator and The Prophet more than anyone. The closed idea I’ve achieved thus far is; for Prophet Mohammad. To imagine you are walking in Heaven with Prophet Mohammad and you come across a great tree from the trees of Heaven. Would you tell him; “Oh Prophet of Allah, leave me to sit by this tree. You go on your way and I’ll see you later.”? Personally I cannot imagine anything that I would allow to come between us and him in Heaven. By The Will of The Lord this is evidence of our love for him. As for Allah. We live our lives in worshipping our Creator. We may be comforted to tell our families of our great deeds; “Dad, I’m praying.” Or “Mom I’m fasting.” But the true comfort, to me, comes from receiving that recognition from The Lord of the Worlds, Allah. By His will that is evidence of how much we love him. Also, that no one will have attained Faith until they love for others what they love for their self. I take the intention. And I also apply another teaching of Prophet Mohammad, The Peace and Blessings of Allah be with him. To make sure that my hands and my words are safe and don’t harm the people around me. Being safe towards the people around me and if they are safe to the people around them we will avoid suspicion and be that much closer to becoming great friends. Lastly, that no one will enter Jannah if they have even a bit of arrogance in their heart. I apply this information in my life by seeking refuge in The Lord from arrogance and know that all Honor is for The Lord and any honor for a believer is achieved only during their night prayers. Thank you for your time. Allah protect us.
see thats up for interpretation - 'dont harm yourself' is not the same as 'dont smoke or consume things which could potentially harm your body' Also up for debate about junk food - really who knows what chemicals fast food has in it, it can be said just as bad for you
genuine question what about big pharma medications? they have great harming effects. they have good ones too but then the same could be said about marijuana. And another question what about edibles? there’s no respiratory diseases linked and its just ingestion.

Why is junk food halal though when it too gives you health problems. You ruled haram for smoking based on health issue then why not the same be applied to foods? We know that sugar is bad but no ulama stepped up to say it's haram? Maybe could it be because they also consume sugar? That's why we Muslims nowadays are fat? Refined sugar is deadly too...not haram? You will say, eat in moderation but then why not smoke in moderation, one cigarette on a sunday??? So like 80% of the middle east is sinning. I'm Iranian Assyrian and all the men in my family smoke, I'm Christian, but my Uncle David had tons of Muslim friends and they all smoked lol. Every Middke easterners from Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia smoke like crazy. Also Malaysian and Indonesians smoke like crazy too, shoot Indonesians start smoking at like 5 years old,!!!!

Basically God taught the prophet and the prophet commanded that you mustn't harm yourself or harm others. This is a fiqh principle that scholars use to judge if anything is harmful then its haram. Well, you dont particularly need a scholar to tell you if you know the Hadith or the principle yourself. Also, when smoking was first introduced people did not know the effects whether harmful or not.

For example, in maths, you were taught that positive numbers start from 0 to positive infinity, but you weren't taught every single positive number.
