Look at the package and find out who makes it for Iwan Ries. So far they’ve had several contractors making for them. Back in the 1950’s when I first started smoking it, this tobacco had a completely different taste to it because it was made onsite in the store. That’s when it was really good. Too bad you young people didn’t live in those days…you don’t know what you’ve missed.
I love Iwan Reis Dr Bradley and Gourmet English. I’m going to have to try this blend. It smelled amazing last time I was in their shop. Thanks for the review
I wanted to like this since my father smoked this all the time. For me it was just to mild. Liked the flavor though. I might get another pouch and add some burley #4 to add some punch
This is not the same blend, I picked up a 7oz tin and it does not have much flavor. This was the first and only pipe tobacco I smoked for over 5yrs. I remember that this blend upon lighting you would get a hint of soap, vanilla, and a floral perfume quality that was delicious. The flavor would remain the same to the very bottom of the bowl. The cut is way thicker and nothing like the old small dry flaky cut that I remember. It's a shame that it changed so much because it was a great blend.
