A smoky chicken tandoori recipe you can make at home using one pan. It’s simple to make, and the flavours will amaze you. This recipe is prepared by marinating the chicken in a spicy tangy yogurt mixture. This not only flavours the meat but also tenderizes it and makes it juicy. Traditionally chicken tandoori is made using a tandoori oven, which is a cylindrical clay oven that originated in India. As we don’t all have tandoori ovens at home, this recipe has been simplified to give you similar results at home. Enjoy my simple smoky chicken tandoori made in one pan.

This recipe gave me a meditative experience..such calming music, fresh colours and clean presentation. And you nailed it with the charcoal part, known as the "dhungar" technique that imparts a smoky flavour to the dish. To get the best results, try adding little ghee (clarified butter) on top of the red hot charcoal to get a heavenly aroma. However, would like to add: 1. Nobody puts dijon mustard in tandoori chicken 2. Marinating with mustard oil would make quite a difference in taste 3. Tandoori chicken is never so oily, for its prepared in a tandoor/oven. 4. This dish is more of a hybrid between tandoori chicken and chicken chaap. Nonetheless, I liked your take on this dish.

Glad you enjoyed the viseo Anannya, I used a little mustard as most people don't have mustard oil. I also simplified it in a pan as many people don't like to use an oven. The result is still amazing. 😀

This smoky flavor really elevates the richness of the dish but it leads to the formation of nitrosamines which can lead to GI mucosal cancer. If we choose to omit the last step we can reduce the risk of cancer. Also one should take food rich in fibres along with it.
