Our team at the Silvertown Tunnel project in London recently achieved a so-called “U-turn”. Last weekend, a TBM, with a weight of 1,450 tonnes, was successfully turned in just one day, thanks to the special air cushion system developed by Herrenknecht and its partners.
This impressive achievement would not have been possible without the teamwork of our 10 Herrenknecht service experts and the crew members of the Riverlinx JV. They worked hand in hand to ensure the machine was turned smoothly in the shaft after completing its first drive for the new Silvertown Tunnel.
