@@blackgothicrose89 i did want to edit the comment because i forgot it was actually straight chanse in that episode but i think shayne would have used it as a cover regardless 😂
@@angelmars1617I think they just joked about it *less* than they used to. Before, it was like “lmao that’s so dumb, what a funny ass ship” but then they actually started dating and were like “hmm… we can’t avoid the ship entirely, but now it’s… different 💀”
Yessss, I thought about that! I had noticed that in at least 2 years from now, they stopped playing a lot about the ship, which made me very suspicious, but I really wanted to know what year they actually started something, which was exactly when they stopped playing about the shipp
The crews and rest of the casts laughs in all of these make so much sense now. They have a tinge of disbelief and "ah!" to them that makes total sense with them knowing!
Courtney's pitch for "people you see at a wedding" in that tntl makes so much more sense now! Cuz she was probably engaged by then but the theme was subtle enough for fans to not realize anything
My theory is that it was one of the first TNTLs they filmed together once they got engaged 🥹 it completely makes sense with Courtney's prompt and Damien's sketch marrying them
@@huntersims4593 Oh I apologize, my earlier reply to you a few days ago had a link that youtube didn't inform me was deleted, so I didn't know until now. The video is called "Are we cringe? | Idiots Present"
i LOVE shayne using varying she/they pronouns for Courtney. i feel like many of the other smosh members neglect to do this; seeing her husband doing so makes my heart so full
I never noticed how much of a point Shayne makes to use both Courtney's pronouns (since they do go by both she and they) and it shows how much he cares by how seriously he took it. I'm sure for some cast it's force of habit since some knew Courtney before they came out, and they don't mean anything malicious, but it's really sweet to see that Shayne wants his wife to feel valid as she is.
@@samuelrichards5521 If someone goes by both, they want both to be used. It doesn’t mean they mind either, but it feels somewhat invalidating when someone uses just one, like she for example, because it feels like maybe they still only see you as a girl. Hope this helps 😊
8:00 "Are you and Courtney dating or am I imagining things?" That guy had to be so happy after April 1st
Not really. They've kind of roughhoused since the start. Mostly Courtney smacking and pushing him a bit until he gets tired of it and gives one shove and wins instantly. He's also simply picked her up or shook her hand too hard. So that comment to me is straight up just facts of what's been seen in videos.
@@mosquitopyjamas9048 not sure what being nonbinary has to do with this topic. I'm an abuse survivor and think it's insensitive to joke about, especially when you're joking about it happening to real people. A real person being a "battered husband" isn't a funny concept.
There is nothing funnier than Ian seeing Shayne’s hand on Courtney’s back, and the being like “That looks weird! I gotta cover for him!” 8:16
the slap at 3:10, like everything Courtney does at that point, was the first time ever, I was like “Something is different here” but I thought dating was outta the question
Same, I always felt that Courtney had a crush on Shayne and maybe it was reciprocal but that they had decided to be friends because they work together, since Shayne at some point in the podcast said he wouldn't be able to date a co-worker lmao I wonder a lot when they decided it wasn't out of the question and started dating
@@michaelbrucato7180 I feel like she was also wearing perfume, she most likely puts some on her wrist, but she probably touches his face a bunch and/or slaps him playfully
@@michaelbrucato7180it wasn't the first time. Courtney has previously slapped Shane on camera. In the TNTL where he said "I want you to hit me..." and she immediately slaps him, and he was like "I wasn't ready yet"
@@PlutozReal Yeah, I expected him to guess Courtney right purely because she's slapped him on camera before, so we the audience already knew that Shayne already knew what she slaps like, regardless of their relationship status.
9:50 Shayne’s reaction to this whole bit makes so much sense in retrospect. His awkwardness during the setup, His immediate and confused “uh Yes?” Like it’s a rhetorical question. The suspicious look around the studio afterwards like “why are we doing this? Courtney’s look at Damian at 10:12 like “Bro really?” Damian was definitely making the biggest inside joke he could before the reveal, and he came so close to giving up the secret that it made them so uncomfortable 😂

3:09 I love Courtney’s nervousness through this whole bit. She has a kinda “goddamn it he’s gonna know it’s me” & “oh no I don’t wanna hurt him” energy in that bit

I hope they don't. I also had a hunch they were together but I kept that to myself like a normal grown up. It's one thing yapping with some friends or even doing a moment compilation (with a platonic title). Another thing to DM the people involved being all up in their business. Just because they were correct doesn't mean they were right in doing so.
@@lightningbolt9155 But they would have gotten those, likely weekly, by multiple people, for years. Many likely less friendly than that one. Noone pissed in my cheerios, I just see these people as humans. Having hunches and being curious is totally normal. Speculating that with some friends or in a group chat is too. Maybe even a small comment on a video here and there. But actively DMing or tagging someone in those comments is weird. It wouldn't be a big thing if it happened once from one person. But it has been constant for them. For almost a decade. Long before they got together, people pushed for that. The individual action is part of a bigger problem
@@hernameispekka_Rebecca “It wouldn’t be a big thing if it happened once from one person” There you go. This isn’t about multiple people doing it. It’s about the one DM, who said it very kindly. You’re the only one making it bigger than it needs to be.
@@hernameispekka_Rebecca Lots of parasocial weirdos out there. Imagine if their own clients from work started dming them asking about their personal lives.
@@calci2679they had a super small wedding, from the pictures it looks like they both invited one best friend + their partner and that's it (and they were both friends from outside of smosh)
They eloped in - crap there's too many names that start with San I can't remember - wherever Amanda got married that's where they eloped so no one from Smosh was there by the sounds of it. (recent Smosh Mouth episode provided some answers)
@@Mariethechaotic i said "likely," so i wasn't stating it as fact. but aside from that, its just based on the haircuts they had, and shaynes mustache. as well as Damien making that joke, and the way they reacted. idk if they actually were engaged by then. just stating what i think. edit: typo
WOAH i just realized that Damiens wedding but from TNTL is with Shayne with a mustache and Courtney with longer hair, the same attributes they both have in their proposal photo
The slap now has me thinking that either he knows her hand right away, which i believed was because of many slaps for different bits, but now i'm wondering if he just smelled her shampoo or something. " Ah yes, the smell that always comes from the bathroom when Courtney showers. I wonder who would smell that way"
I was never a fan of them as a couple, but after having my mouth spectacularly shut up, I can look back at the "clues" with amusement and certain fondness
I think they were sort of hinting at in tntl cuz there has been three times before the announcement that they getting married or posing as a couple. Like chicken wife, Gerald cakes and bystander (idk if he has a name yet) and the other ones in this video.
To everyone who is saying things like GUYS IT WAS SO OBVIOUS or IT'S SO CLEAR NOW, we respected their privacy and didn't assume anything like respectful people? don't assume relationships until they are told to be them.
This. I was pretty sure they were a thing but also, you don't know people's lives and connections. They could have just been the absolute best of buds. Either way it was none of my buissness until they made it so
1:46 the entire thing was awesome in the episode but the reactions make way more sense now lol lik Angelina folding in half immediately or the real genuine shock on arashas face lmao
This was made 7 days too early. Just came from the “What would Chanse do?” vid where Angela answers a question with “you fall in love with your best friend” Courtney remarks “I wonder what that’s like” 😂
I always thought it was bizarre that despite every tiny shot of them getting dissected and analysed, Sarah straight-up telling the internet that they made out, somehow never got much traction

Thanks for adding all the ones missed by other compilations!!!! I forgot the theater pit moment where tommy read the comment about shayne and courtney dating! I was wondering how come they put that comment in the bowl but now it makes sense!!
They need to remake the smoshley wed game because they have the perfect opening of last time we saw these couples neither were married and now one of them is but not the one you think
i’m just so curious WHEN they started actually dating. like i’m sure with most couples there we’re probably on and off phases of their interest in each other, and a period of time where they were sort of dating without being an official item.. but i’m so curious when these jokes and references in the group became jokes for THE WHOLE group yk ahaha ofc that’s private info and only something people should share if they feel comfortable! not saying i wish they did or requesting them to! i’m so happy for them and honored they decided to share with us their relationship 🥹🥹
Right there with you. I don't really understand how it's too personal to reveal but I get that it's none of our business. Still, it'd be fun to see an actual starting point
I wonder how many deleted scenes there are of cast or Shayne and Courtney slipping up and saying something about them being together or making it too obvious
I'm living for this retrospection because I was so naïve watching these at face value. but I ain't mad at it. I'm living for this. makes me love everything even more 🤣
The rate at which yall went through all the videos, is still wild to me lol. Didn't even need two weeks to find the videos from 2017 of awkward jokes alluding to their possible relationship, this is a work of art that it was all compiled immediately after the announcement tbqh lol
HONESTLY THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS. I've had previously been suspicious about them being together. And I've just been NEEDING a compilation to confirm my thoughts :^) I also had suspicions once I realized Shayne was one of the first to fully refer court as "they/them"
straight up i do not watch smosh w any regularity so i didnt know about any of the shourtney lore but i got into it bc of how funny the response to their april fools wedding post was so this video says little to me out of context but i do have to say, given all of that, the section w the fav movies/games/etc is quite possibly the most obvious example of a man talking specifically about his girlfriend i have ever seen it is hilarious in hindsight that they had so many people convinced otherwise
