If you're considering the SMOVE mobile, consider this! They delete and block anyone commenting on their social media if they're not raving about them. I bought the #SmoveMobile. I provided an honest review, and met someone else who also had the same issue with the same model phone, and #Smove deleted both and blocked us to save face. Ryan...son, I have to tell you that while some of the functionality of my Smove has some variations, this tutorial you did is THE best one I have ever seen! Obviously while there are other functions/settings I need to learn, this was a HUGE step in actually using this gimbal. We've had this for about 2 years. I got so disgusted with trying to find a website or video that actually provided at least some basic instructions that I just put away long ago. Thanks so much!
I’ve been told that it’s not possible to manually turn off iPhone stabilization yourself, but for apps that use the camera, the stabilization is off by default, leaving it up to the developer to turn it on or off.
I started using my SMOVE today and the automatic stabilization made it film very weird. That really is a disappointment. How do you make it not fight the auto stabilization of the phone? Any news?
I was disappointed that it did not come with a pigtail to charge iPhone. I do love the tripod adapter though, it will take me to another level. After filming with a DSLR and a GoPro, it seems like my Iphone X is my goto lately.

I was initially concerned I’d have issues. haven’t had any of the issues these other commenters are having. I’m curious if it is truly a hardware/software issue or....(readers pls don’t hate me)... user error?? I don’t doubt there are bugs and kinks for SMOVE to work out. I can say Setting up, and Getting used to a new device, isn’t always intuitive as some others are. I haven’t delved into all issues just read the comments... mine works great. iPhone XS

Hey Ryan, great overview! Two questions for you. 1) Does the Smove Mobile system come with a tripod base mount or would you need to purchase that item separately? 2) Zoom function: Is this usable if you’re right handed or would you hold the gimbal in your left hand instead?
Hey thanks! Great questions! The Smove Mobile does not come with a tripod mount, nor does it come with a charging adapter cable that works with my iphone, or the 5 volt sub plug...all things to keep in mind. The zoom function seemed accessible to me regardless of which hand I was holding it in. Hope that helps!
Hi, can you please help, what is your opinion? when I am in autopaning mode (4 times power button) ,I can't manually tilt smartphone and set start or end position, this gimbal motor starts jerking like crazy, what could be wrong here. simple panning right or left is ok, but up or down is just nightmare!
I am really having trouble getting this to go to portrait mode. It works maybe 1 out of 50 times tried so frustrating. I have watched every video I can find on it and it makes it look so simple
Best video so far on smove. I have a new phone and problems recalibration. Smove shakes, spins and vibrates after a minute. Stops and starts the flip out again.. any suggestions ?
You have to make sure the gimbal is balanced properly before turning it on, and that the phone isn't too heavy for the gimbal. That's the only things I can think of. Sorry you're having trouble, and thanks for watching!

Useful video. Has anyone else have problems with the app (iPhone)? I have trouble getting it to change modes (Slomo, Video, Panorama) consistently. It often gets stuck on one and won’t change.
Hi guys, everything you're showing looks great but since day 1 of receiving the "Smove Stabilizer" we can't access the gimbal parameters, we always get the same message "reading cloud - platform parameters", the app is trying to connect but like 30 seconds after this, always and everytime the same conclusion "reading failure - try again?"...so we can not use all options of this Stabilizer, and that's really annoying...could you please help us?? Thanks
Hi! Sorry you’re having issues! I would try uninstalling and reinstalling the Smove app and see if that clears up any issues. Let me know how it works out!
Back when I made this review, I believe the in-app controls for zooming and focus only worked with iOS devices. It could be different now, but I’m not familiar with using Samsung devices. Sorry! Try to reach out to the manufacturer and see if they can assist you.
So you’re not seeing the selections for video, panoramic, slo-mo, etc above the record button when you have your phone positioned vertically? They are showing up for me atm. Try updating your app and see if that helps.
This would definitely support live streaming, and the mic would depend on the placement of the input and how the phone is placed in the dock. It’s definitely doable with my iPhone 8 Plus.
I have a Smove Mobile and I love it. But sometimes it has a mind of its own. Like when i set it up on the tripod, i would set the position i want it in, then like 10 seconds later it slowly starts to rotate. Has any else come across this problem? If you so how did you remedy this???
Is there a way where I can have the Smove do a 360 while it's in tripod mode? I'd like to live stream me playing guitar and allow the people watching to see everything around the camera.
I have experienced mine getting pretty warm also. It may be normal, but if you experience it getting burning hot or smell something burning, you may need to contact support.
I bought the pro mobile (Smoves best from what they say)...No trigger...I want to lock the gimbal in place. I'm starting to think that the cheaper version is better. There is no selfie stick on the pro version. The only difference I'm seeing between the two units is you get less with the Pro version.

Great video!! My question is: I am about to purchase a gimbal for use with my iPhone X and Filmic Pro. Which one (regardless of price). Smove, Osmo 2, or Robot? Which do you recommend with the iPhone X and also that can be used in Filmic Pro?
I've got one of these, what annoys me about it , it's that the manufacturer wants one single button to do everything, and you have to memorise the number of taps, in the meanwhile you start a kind of a wrestling with that gadget , which acts like an angry cat! i put it at side and got back to the plain ones.
With Facebook offering the 360 Photo function based on landscape series of photos, can the time lapse be set to do a complete 360 landscape shot automatically so I can be part of the photo?
I received mine yesterday. Unfortunately, the app won't stay connected to the stabilizer, which makes the whole thing useless. I'm using a Galaxy S22 Ultra. There's no support phone number to call, no chat, only email and I still haven't received a reply to an email I sent over a week ago before I bought this. I'm no stranger to this kind of equipment, so I'm pretty sure it's not a matter of operator error. Also, the app you're showing looks nothing like the app I downloaded. There are several versions of the app and I tried all of them. You also have the side buttons, which mine doesn't have! The tracking doesn't work, either.
Sorry you’re having a bad experience! I’ve seen a lot of negative feedback since I posted this video years ago. The gimbal and app have changed quite a bit since I made this video. I would try to return it if you’re not happy.

I watched that segment on how to change from landscape to portrait mode over and over again and just can't make it work. I don't even see that maneuver in the short SMOVE manual. This is my first gimbal so nothing is intuitive to me yet.
It is a slightly difficult maneuver to pull off. I had to practice it a bit myself. They have updated the Smove Mobile and its app quite a bit since this video was made. It's entirely possible that the functionality was changed? But I'm not sure?
I just got it to work after watching another video. After you press the trigger, you push and hold the function button and the phone just moves itself into portrait mode.

@@RyanCampFilms I had a same issued today. just tried and when connect the gimbal to smove application and start receording, the sound are lacking behind a few second. i used iphone 7. not sure if there is sofware problem. i check updated firmware but n/a at this stage
For the life of me I can’t figure out this device when it synchronizes and it starts doing their chicken chicken like it’s an epileptic seizure, I don’t know how to reboot it but this thing is so unpredictable

Great video! I currently have the Moza Mini MI. I'm finding that whenever I press the wheel on it too use its various functions, I can hear the clicks when playing back my video. Question... Can you hear anything on your video when accessing the buttons on the Smove Mobile?
Just opened my Smove and am having a frustrating time trying to make the motion time lapse work properly. The settings make no senses and all I end up with is a :01 clip that is really bumpy. 1) When I hand set the start and end points, is it memorizing all the little adjustments I make along the way? Sure seems like it...instead of only remembering the final point I lock in with the Function button. 2) Having to dig 3 layers deep in the app to set a Motion Lapse is bad enough, but I have yet to see the Time Remaining read anything but 0:00. What should these settings look like? 3) Back on the main screen, there is a time total at the top of the screen, ranging from .5 to 5 minutes. Is that the total amount of time I'd like to Lapse to be when completed? If so, why would .5 be a choice? Frustrated and ready to return this thing...
Has anyone used this to create a virtual walk through of a home, say for real estate sales. By setting on a tripod, doing a 360 panoramic shot of each room, and stitching together for a virtual walk through?

why is the sound so low when recording using the SMOVE app? It is fine when using the iPhone camera? But then you can't use the tele/wide settings on handle? What app do you use when editing?
I bought this gimbal, in part because of your recommendation. I have an iPhone X. The sound does not work with the Smove Mobile app and my iPhone. You cannot hear anything in the video. I tried writing to their tech support several times, and never received even a response. I am returning it, and they have not even issued an RMA. I would beware of this company. They do not stand behind their product.

Anyone ever get a response from Smove customer support? While I like the product, some features do not work. I've had no luck reaching support. If I had known of this poor customer support I would not have purchased the product. What have I learned? Do not buy anything from an ad on Facebook!
I just got one of these and after recording video in the selfie mode, the playback is showing in the reversed - mirror image . How do I correct this? Is this a settings issue?
Hi, it’s the same for me. I’m not seeing any setting that can correct this within the app. If you have access to Adobe Premiere, you can use the “Flip Horizontally” effect to correct it.

Hi Shaun, if your phone is connected to the gimbal you can just tap the function button to take a picture, or hold it down to start recording video. If the phone is not connected you can do the same by tap or holding the red record button on the screen within what ever app you are using.

No worries Shaun! The zoom function should work properly if your phone is connected to the gimbal via bluetooth. You could try restarting the app and the gimbal to see if that works and reconnect them again. Are you using iPhone?

@@RyanCampFilms Maybe it is that. I move my arm horizontally, but the smartphone's axis doesn't follow the movement properly. I'm wondering if it's the weight of the smartphone that's above what it supports, or if it's just defective, as I bought it used. And thanks for responding!
Does not fit phones with a 6" screen even though it claims it fits all sizes. Facial tracking does not work. Object tracking does not work. Tech support just says, "facial tracking should work, we are marking this issue as resolved."
I hate all these phone gimbals with the lack of support for phone cases.... Can't be taking out the phone cases all the time. Oh well, guess there's a sacrifice for smoother videos
Update. I have a Samsung S7. Got my Smove Mobile May 25th. Unfortunately I have had nothing but problems. The app crashes a lot. When it doesn't crash my phone runs extremely hot. Anytime I try to change the settings like motor strength, shooting scene, rocker setting, autorotation mode, joystick speed they all just go back to the default settings. I hope you other Android users don't run into the same problems that I have. Sucks I spent $160 for something that I can't use. I'm going back to my handheld camcorder and tripod. Never had these issues using those.
Too late to return it. According to their website you have 15 days from the day you order it to return it. It took 5 days to get here and I spent 2 weeks trying to troubleshoot it with no luck. I just watched another video of a guy that just got his 2 days ago and he's also having all sorts of issues also.
There seems to be a few different products out there that are very similar to the Smove Mobile. I’m not sure if they are %100 identical though, as I don’t have access to them. Rebranding is fairly common with electronics and camera gear though, so it wouldn’t surprise me.
Do not purchase a Smove Mobile. Their customer support is horrible and they have a 100% No Return Policy. What does that tell you about the company and product? They don’t stand by their product. Make sure you read all the reviews. I purchased the wrong product. I wanted a stick that extended. I bought the wrong one. They won’t take this back. They don’t respond to my tickets. They ghosted me!
