Due to the drastic drop in demand after the opening of the Downtown Line 2 in 2015, this route was withdrawn effective 30 August 2020.
Peak-hour Service 971 replaces the lost connection between Pending Road, Petir Road, BKE/PIE, and Stevens Road.
Service 972M replaces the lost connection between Stevens Road, Dunearn/Bukit Timah Roads, and Scotts Road.
