The big 3 get prem battleships but Japan gets a Old ass BATTLECRUISER for the event, which could have somewhat been a prem for Japan, it matches the criteria with gun caliber
I was disappointed with the german naval additions this patch. Another coastal boat which is neat but not applicable for me and the nassau. The nassau should've been an event reward since Germany really could've gotten a much more competitive 6.3 BB as the nassau is the weakest. Hell they could've adding the Koing class as both TT and premium this patch or some of the battle cruisers such as the Derrflinger class
Is it just me or is the MM become more forgiving for 6.3 ships, as a des moines players I have been seeing a lot of full downtiers, its really fun to clap prince eugens, the rest are 6.7 uptiers only but then again the marat is a pain to deal with, even when u crit all 4 turrets it just sits there and repairs and shoots u back while u just empty ur ammo, also is it true that most if not all US ships sit a bit too high than what they are IRL, a lot of players complain and even bug repot it but I don't see it being changed, if its tru i would love it being fixed cuz idk why the snails loves to dunk on US crusers and BBs hard with the stupid long reloads, there is no way the nevada or any 14 inch BB should have 40 sec ACED reload, when irl the texas and nevada pumped out 3 salvos in a minute gaijin balance :upside_down_face:
SMS Goben(renamed as Serim after handled to Turkey) in her 1940s state is a much better choice to be the Germany premium since the other two are also old ships refitted with heavy AA, but Gaijin decided to be lazy. Nassau is just not impressive enough for me to pay the money. And I believe other countries will receive their premium BBs quite soon and theirs will be better than the 3 released now since Gaijin had done such thing when they released premium jets.
Thanks for the video, great content as always! What is your opinion about the current BR´s? Is there a BR "sweet spot" where you still can have fun games? Like that you can actually fight every enemy you face on the seas, 5.3 CL´s used to be kinda playable during the last event.
Honestly flooding is a double sided coin, Playing torpedo planes are viable now I got 2 kills with my French PBY-5 and its 700m drop highet. On the other hand trying to kill one ship now take 150+ shells, because you can't ammo rack it once it sinks below 20% water level. Also unlike flooding pre update i notice its more of a issue.
Biggest disappointment for me is the fact that the Des Moines didn't go up in rank, despite the fact that it's predecessor did, and its sister ship did. Basically made it useless for grinding very shortly after its release, just so they can sell more Wyomings.
Introducing des moines itself was a disappointment, me and other players grinded their way in event for "unique" autoloader newport news, and then like 2 months later they add copy paste same ship with better aa as premium
The Marat being 6.3 when it's basically 7.0 is just Gaijin Gaijining as usual lol, also it's wildly broken how they have it set up with the armament that got built into it after it was immobilized and made into a stationary gun battery.. it shouldn't have the triple-76mms on the fore and aft-most turrets, or at least they should have their traverses properly slowed from having the extra 50-100 tonnes of steel and concrete that those three emplacements add to each turret*... Also tbh I really think this was a terrible choice, to add these, and also an even worse choice when it was literally just gaijin "making rank 6 BBs" by breaking up the tech trees more without adding any new ships or BRs to the lineups and tbh feels like Gaijin just wanting to make the Talismans on Alaskas/Scharnhorsts or Fusos to be less useful. (literally that flex tape meme lmao "wildly different combat capabilities between BR 6.0 and 7.0, as visualized by wildly gushing leak in water container; Gaijin; slaps piece of tap on leak (which is just taking rank 5 and breaking it in half to make rank 6 without any other changes) *tbh the Marat's turrets having no change in performance gives me the same OP vaporware vibe that the Soviet BTR-ZD SPAA does, where they took a an amphibious vehicle, slapped on a 3-tonne AA cannon with trailer and *tied* it to the roof and claim that that did nothing to the vehicle's overall weight/amphibious capabilties... when IRL, trying that'll just make it nose up and sink with how wildly badly balanced and overweight it would be.
Love your content napalm ❤️ do you have any tips for some one who’s trying to start out in naval? I am attempting to go down the US naval line, just got the 4.7 destroyers and I feel like I’m constantly in pain and suffering. I can’t kill or hurt anything really, I’m constantly uptiered fighting heavy cruisers and such but the issue is I don’t make any RP or silver lions so while I want to figure it out I really can’t muster the courage to play.
dont forget to talk about the bug that if your guns got hit once you suffer from constant missfireing because apparently repairing them isnt enough. also almoast every match you cant shoot them at all and you need to switch to different ammo type to fix it. and dont forget the constant server issues which cloase the ongoing game and still eat up your boosters. (I played with 2 other mates and we all get disconnected at the same moment so it can only be a server issue. have this problem every day and today no joke 5 times in a row) playing naval currently is just a pain in the ass and by the way: moin meister ich bin auch deutscher
@@Napalmratte Well in theory the new flooding mechanics simulates ships bulkheads and thus compartmentalisation, so if u get a flooding but your hull is too damaged you wont be able to drain all the water, and u will be forced to carry that water the rest of the match, whatever the flooding percentage is, i've seen many ships stuck at 20% buoyancy all the match, so I guess it adds more realism to the game, but sometimes is really annoying, specially when u get spammed by some des-moines bots at the beggining of the match, anyway, i would like to hear your opinion as a senior naval player in the future as soon as u consideer to have enough battles played in this patch, i really like your content.
@@manuelhenao8453 it Sounds Like a disadvantage at First but think about it. Your bow gets destroyed and your hull gets lower in the water. Some ships the cannot get ammoracked anymore, the citadel might be save and you are unkillable by shellfire
@@Napalmrattei think this is what just happened to me, had a match in the Alaska and survived the whole 40 minutes being pummelled by other bbs. I took an irreparable breach and sat low in the water at 60% which i think helped me survive
I like naval, I think the addition of bot planes or making it easier to get into a plane would be nice. With all the bad ass anti air armament I have a need to down more planes
I don’t understand why you’d get this piece of ship when you could get SMS Ostfriesland & talisman it and all for less then Nassau and get the same research bonuses as it! In my honest opinion this ship is just not worth it.
For some reason with this new update now when I take a good bit of damage I am not able to fire any but one of my main guns for quite some time. Am I the only one?
Get Arkansas, as the USA will get ships like USS New Jersey someday in the future, Germany has literally nothing that holds a candle to the might of the USN/IJN/RN at their WWII peaks.
@@MaticTheProto Yo fool, they're asking about *NOW*, not later, the Arkansas is good for the NOW of War Thunder and for grinding the trees before they add the heavy hitters.
Gaijin is russian company - what can we expect? They must be patriotic, otherwise they will be send to GULAG. They got laws about that. Russia delenda est!
Im sorry but I really do not care if the lazy premium players don't have enough premium ships so that they skip all the hard work of the Tech Tree players for $70. I grinded the entire US Naval Tech Tree without the help of any premium ship. And i have a full-time job and i only play at nights and on the weekends.
