I never thought about Bluetooth transmission from a desktop DAC before, but think it is a brilliant and obvious feature to ask for. Your review and insight are entertaining and useful as always! I agree with the value proposition as well. I certainly don't have the number nor experience with DACs that you do , but I think the most important factors should be input and output for your source (s), form factor, and user interface, and cost benefit ratio.
The only one that does in fact sound different is the Bellari HA543. It has a function switch to alter bass. Some of iFi’s stuff with bass enhancement also makes a marginal difference.
So you don’t believe dacs can sound warmer or have tallness in sound stage? I am talking about the warmth of burbrowns like the ZEN DAC. Trying to find another warm Dac to upgrade to. Maybe the M500 or the DO200.
It’s not an issue of belief, but what volume-matched true A/B tests repeatedly show, particularly with modern dacs. Why not just get a warm sounding headphone?
Also, have you thought about getting a tube amp? The distortion tubes add often gives the impression of “warmth”-which is not something dacs replicate. Alternatively, take a look at the Jolida Glass Fx Dac or Woo Audio WA7, both of which use tubes.
@@NoThemeReviews but even you would agree there’s more details to be gained upgrading from the zen Dac right? I mean I picked up a cheap dongle Dac with a single ESS chip and heard a bit more spatial quality that was missing from the zen Dac.
Do you think in terms of DAC only It would be a worthy upgrade from Topping NX4 to G5? Despite the more power and other features G5 has. Basically, my question is how different G5's DAC sounds compared to NX4's DAC?
