my fav part is when waltuh said "ill end it thus" and then proceeded to end it thus all over the place and then jonathan said "waltuh, put your agi away waltuh"
I just started smt 4, defeated the dragon at lake Mikado and felt pretty confident so i started some quests. I took the one of defeating hordes in narakus third stratum, "pretty easy" i thought. Died instantly. Made a party of gun users to exploit weaknesses. Died in 2 turns. I love this game
Other smts: as your tutorial negotiation, here have a pixie, she is eager to join you! Smt 4: as your """tutorial""" negotiation, here have my ex-wife and her boyfriend Chad, have fun
@zeroderorero3948 I hated negotiating at first when I started. It was kind of hard to tell what some guys wanted you to say at first and, of course, they can just take your stuff and run, the greedy bastards. Thankfully, I'm familiar with the personalities of a few of those guys. Seems like the best way to recruit new guys is to give them maybe one item they ask for, and then keep refusing until End Talks pops up. They seem to like people with a backbone who knows when to say no.
This was my very first mainline game. I didnt think it was so damn hard. I had to change it to easy or else i knew i wasn't going to finish it and even THEN, its still hard!
mine was nocturne and while it was hard af at the start, once i finished nocturne i was abusing the press turn system so much that it seemed illegal, i love this franchise so much, i actually just finished smt4 as my second mainline SMT after nocturne!
My favorite part about this game is that when I first started, I got absolutely murdered, payed to revive, got murdered again, revived again, got murdered again, couldn't afford to revive, and accidentally game over'd
i think it's like a common statement from people that naraku is a really difficult beginning for an smt game? not sure tho, but i feel like i've heard that. would have to agree tho, naraku rly kicks your ass LMAO
@@stiriann haha ad my first smt game it definitely gave me a run for my money. It was hard to scout the first few demons but after that things kind of got more on track
to be honest i'd kinda prefer the tough love treatment at first in these games :D it makes it feel better once you're finally getting stronger, since there's a more clear improvement you can see!
@@stiriann oh I definitely enjoyed it. I love the challenge I just crossed a line between geting wrecked by bosses to not having to think about them. I decided to go for a dx/gun/healer build on Flynn. Very few things so far have countered gun so it's kind of just a funny build. I feel like the devs focused more on elemental balance which I've for the most part just ignored.
i dunno if you've watched my playthrough of smt iv at all, but i focused on a gun flynn purely for the comedy aspect of flynn having a gun 😂 there was one boss that was a clear attack towards my entire existence though but to be fair i could've gone back to raise some more fitting demons for that encounter if i wasn't so stubborn 😅
I mean, it is a fair game. In any other SMT or Persona, as soon as your MC hits the floor dead it starts laughing at you. You pulled a win out of two MC deaths. :3
@Chris Stone controversial statement alert but hear me out... some people don't have a nintendo 3ds and it would be more convenient to have it on a more accessible platform 🙉 ik it's absolutely bonkers
@@stiriann controversial statement alert but hear me out... Get a fucking 3DS it really isn't rocket science. Not every game you're going to want to play will be on steam. Working 3DSs are not exactly hard to find. There are SMT games stuck on the fucking Famicom in the wrong language and your ass is portbegging for a game that came out 10 years ago on one of the best selling systems of all time.
@@ChrisStoneinator With the Eshop being closed, no. The story DLC's give some more insight into the story. We need a steam remaster, or at least a good port.
good sounds that would be perfect for the SMT IV Apocalypse BS Compilation Protonjon shouting GAME Chuggaaconroy saying For the Love of Hilary Duff on Stick Uruha Rushia scream SGB Elliot Scream I sense no danger Is this game too easy - Happy Souls Cuz it’s easy and does a lot of damage - Happy Souls Green Rupee Scream - NintendoCaprisun You wanna win too bad - Markipiler You’ve been trolled meme song Thank you so much - Mario I don’t know that - Monty Python You must die - Zelda CDI Meramus TF2 Surprise You are dead, dead, dead song I missed - Game Grumps Jeopardy Theme Help is on the way dear Fus ro dah Yep that’s me, you’re wondering how I got myself into this situation I’ve been caught in the deadly combo in which there’s no escape - Yugioh Zexal
Ngl, the fact you lose your demons when they die made me drop this game on the first dungeon first time I played. Definitely going to give it a second try tho
Imagine if Chuggaaconroy/Emile decided to LP this game. Besides my gf made a custom logo for Emile if he played SMT IV & SMT IV Apocalypse. Like seriously Chuggaa is missing out on an wild ride by not playing any of the Megami Tensei/Persona games
he mentioned p5 on twitter once so maybe it'll happen. I don't think he does games with multiple routes though, so I could see a persona LP more than a SMT one considering each game has one truest ending
For context, is the 3DS port of SMT 4 worth tracking down since I’m considering looking into the mainline SMTs depending on how SMT 5 Vengeance turns out and hearing the B2 boss theme a couple of weeks back?
Smt iv is not a port, it was made for and released on only the 3ds. But yes, its definitely worth playing. Although you may want to hack your 3ds instead of hunting down a cartidge depending on your region as it can be pricey
@@PluckyJacksonThanks. Kinda surprised that a mainline SMT game is only available on the 3DS then again I probably should not have been that surprised considering that SMT 5 was only on the Switch until recently.
@phoney4258 yeah, unfortunately most smt and persona games had been locked to one console until very recently. P4g on vita, smt 3 on ps2, strange journey on ds, etc. Thankfully atlus is starting to get behind porting stuff to pc and other consoles more now. But Iv, iv apocalypse, strange journey, and the devil survivor games are tricky being ds/3ds games as they were designed for systems with 2 screens. You pretty much need to play them on 3ds (or emulate but it's buggy) but they are all very worth playing!
@@PluckyJackson Turns out SMT IV never got a European physical release and instead got released onto the 3DS digital store that got shut down a couple of years back. So I guess I’m out of luck on that regard.
@@stiriann true true i mean i wouldn't want to look like a clown soldier, they would think i am a degenerate. Using the best gear in the game is the way to go making demons drop ther guard and looking stylish unlike farmer walter and catgirl Jonathan. Also do not cosplay as a demon they will use the double megidolaon method
@@stiriannlike I have a vague idea about the line that he shouts "ILL END IT THUS" because everytime he does it it reflects back or is null or something I don't remember lmao
basically every partner in the game has a couple battle lines of their own, and one of Walter's is "I'll end it thus!". it has no correlation to what he will end up doing, but him casting Agi (a fire spell) at a boss called Minotaur who nullifies fire is a big meme in the community 😂
Almost everything here is your fault for not coming prepared, misplaying in some way, or something that could've went badly and would've been bullshit if it did, but you managed to get out of fine. 2:36 is an exception. Like, come the fuck on, game. Am I expected to buff Sukukajas before the end of every fight, now, just in case the off chance of a reinforcement ambush occurs?
i mean it is kinda impossible to come prepared when 1. you don't know the movesets of the bosses you're about to face 2. the game just decides to macabre you 😂😂 but yeah i mean you live and you learn
@@stiriann it feels great when you found the boss weakness on your own (even at the cost of few game overs) instead of going straight to google, yes i know this method is not everyone's liking
2:14 See, this is why you should just never use Critical Wave. Ever. That skill exists to be used by enemies when the game feels like going easy on you.
