You made a few mistakes in programming. ;) Even this was a really simple board. 1. Give a name of the component was definitely wrong, but I accept it because this was only a demo. 2. Array number should be 1 if you use global fiducial. That was the reason for your error message in C-Editor. You can also use in ePM in the user preferences Array number always 1. Arrays Koh Young use for local fiducials. It can be a separate board or more boards (to speed up the inspection), you can use it also for BGA (if it has the own fiducial mark). 3. Thresholds are too tight. Area 200% is extremely large. Also for 80um stencil thickness, don't use 250um height limit and 180um for shape (dog-ear detection). 60um for lower height is might be ok, but I think too high here. Especially because your warning range is 20%. (that means the perfect 80um height also get a warning message during the inspection.). Long time ago I trained ePM programming for beginners and also for advance users in the past for Koh Young distributors and customers all around Europa, Africa and Middle-East so I might have some experience. I would not say I know everything, but many things. :) I trained the steps the following way. (Sorry if I miss something I haven't made the programming long time and I don't have it now) 0. Import the stencil! gerber. 1. The orientation of the board. (mirror or rotate the PCB if necessary) 2. Board origin (Left bottom corner and if you have the board contour this step can be skipped. 3. Board size 4. work area (usually one circuit if you don't give the work area the board size is the work area) 5. Generate mask pins 6. Import the CAD file. 7. Orientation for CAD. 8. Fit CAD centroid for the gerber objects. 9. Add footprints (If you have unpopulated components you need to decide to train with auto-add or you don't want to inspect them) 10. Arrays 11. Fiducials. 12. Export to C-Editor. All steps have tricks and not all of them necessary for programming. CRD (CAD) only need for professional users for proper SPC analyses or for MES systems. However, I always tried to train the engineers for advance use. If you use Koh Young just a good-bad sorter you use only 20% of the knowledge of the machine. You save more money in production if you use SPC professional way. Detect not only the defects but also what can cause them. If you change parameters on the printer how to affect the quality etc. Also, you can check the operators how they judge the defects and train them if they do something wrong. The SPI not only a tool. It is a weapon which can increase by approximately 50% of your production quality.
