No worries Jess thank you for the lovely comment! Smule on PC can give you better quality, but the Bluestacks app itself is always being difficult and finnicky so sometimes it will just be like that or you have to keep trying! If you need a hand with anything else, everyone is welcome to ask!

@@rosysoviet hi! Thank you! I actually do have a question. Whenever I record the video my camera is the correct way up but when I upload it it makes it so I'm upside down??? Is this something you've heard of and know how to fix? :)

Yes of course, there's an example at 2:35 - There's a camera icon at the top right in the video preview, you'll need to click it *every time* once before recording :) I like to wave after starting a song to make sure it's "mirrored". (so right hand is on the left side of the screen). Hope this helps and feel free to find me on Smule too!

Hi, this might be to do with overall power and connections (laptop isn't as powerful as tower, irig is a small plastic thing rather than heavy duty audio interface etc) - have you tried bluestacks 5? It would take away video but it runs significantly smoother and thus may be more successful with voice, it also allows you to save group songs. If Bluestacks 5 doesn't help, I would also check your laptop is running in high performance during bluestacks emulation (despite what it's emulating, it can be intensive on a pc in my experience). And last resort is an XLR - USB cable. There's also just using the irig on your mobile or tablet device as it does a decent job of using the mic's quality.

Hi Babby, if your microphone is plugged only straight into the pc then your best option is to right click the windows sound icon - >sound settings - >recording Then click the microphone that's being used and go to advanced settings where you can change "levels", here you will then need to lower it and see how it goes. After that you will be able to lower it by a few decibels in the editor after recording :)

Hi Ohmjai, bluestacks over the years has been trying to get more optimised but it's got a similar problem to emulators, is that it can be really hardware dependent. The more cables and longer wires you have, it all adds a bit of slowdown to the recording, but also using weaker PC's or laptop's will make the whole program run slower and there will be issues with the delay or glitches in the recording. Even for me Bluestacks can close itself, or ruin the whole recording. I would try Bluestacks 4 if 5 isn't doing good. Each works a bit different but 5 for me started crashing constantly but I've been using 4 mostly fine. When looking there's a few fake links that make you just download 5 again, or even 3. I think the one that worked for me was searching "bluestacks 4" in google and scrolling down to find the "Softsharenet" website link.

What I have noticed is that I'm getting a lag in my recording only when I plug the voice output from my karaoke machine into the laptop, but if I record without plugging, I don't get a lag. However, the recording is not as clean. Also, I prefer to have the audio effects of my karaoke machine while singing which are not there if I sing without plugging in. I can try Bluestacks 4, but if you have other suggestions, I can try those. Thank you.

I apologise for the time that's passed, I think I had the issue too and gave up. Few things that might fix it- 1. An update to smule might've made it workable again 2. Camera editing app that let's you rotate the picture, then be used as the input for bluestacks 3. Turning the camera 4. Finding an older "apk" of smule, through the bluestacks Web browser and using this older version

What do you mean by streaming mode? Is this in reference to the second part of the video where I talk about streaming this to twitch? For this there isn't a streaming mode but you setup a "window capture" and "audio capture" in OBS Studio, once Bluestacks 4 is open.

I'll take a look in a bit when I get on the pc and let you know if I see *the streaming mode, if it's gone it's gone, bluestacks changes over years and sometimes add or remove or move random stuff. And they've been very annoying about their versions, they force an install of X everytime you download any version. I assumed you meant streaming on OBS at first since I forgot about the 5 second tangent about a small feature I mentioned 2 and a half years ago.

Sometimes that can depend on your computer or microphone, emulators can be weird. Or sometimes there are settings in the Bluestacks emulator where you can lower the resolution, and change what engine it uses to make it faster? If you're unable to sort it and don't mind losing video - I recommend trying Bluestacks 5. Supposed to be quite fast and should help your voice be synchronised properly hopefully!

@@rosysoviet I changed the format in Configurations>>Advanced">> profile. The default was a samsung model, so i put Asus Rog 2 and it worked! no more latency

Oh wow it is that old! I've not heard of that issue, can't find anything immediately on google. I would investigate if it's to do with - what camera you're using/operating system or version/or if it's a particular laptop, notebook, chromebook etc?

Not sure if you had fixed this issue by now, it can be affected by number of wires/hardware/speed of pc/restarting etc. Smule also has a diamond button in the editing screen where you can push the recording back or forward if it is not in time when recorded. Sorry for the delay, it's been a busy year with work, marriage and buying a house so I've let the comments fall by the wayside.

Hi Sarah, apologies for the stress, I had not had the forethought to include a bit about that - yes that's normal because Bluestacks runs like an AndroidOS and pretends it is a mobile device. If you go into it's settings you will find a range of devices to choose from like GalaxyS20 and OnePlus etc. It may also give you a location of login but these are rarely accurate in my experience so if it's somewhere 100 miles away I would ignore it, as long as the time matches up :)

I get that a lot also - I just have to keep retrying, Bluestacks 4 doesn't have these issues so unless you need 5 for group songs - not much reason to use it :)

There's a couple versions of bluestacks, if you try 4, or 5 they sometimes work when the other one doesn't. I've not had bad sound, but I've gotten bad recordings in the last 6 months and that's been a problem on AndroidOS Smule themselves are being bad with fixing.

Do you mean when you are listening to the recording it is fine, but after it uploads it sounds bad? Are you listening to it through headphones after as I know playing through speakers sometimes takes effects off, or you might try to record through a mic, and the wrong one was the default in windows settings? I'm not sure!

Sorry for the delay! Bluestacks as far as I know is the top used android emulator (and the only one for doing smule on pc at least), there's probably times where case by case it slows something down while it's open as it can be resource intensive, but I've never felt like it affected anything outside of the program in any lasting way and I've used versions 4, 5 and X, on and off since 2019! 4 let me do video, but 5 had less issues. Updates to smule, and updates to bluestacks may always break what worked before

Sorry for the delay replying, macbook I'm not sure if anyone out there knows any tricks, last I researched, for chromebooks and macbooks, bluestacks smule would either hardly work right or work at all, apologies

Sorry for the delay - apple products have automatic and instant voice replay, android does now but it's bad comparatively and is also off by default probably. Should be a playback option you can enable before or during the song.

There's a small diamonds icon, controls how far forward or backward your voice is!

@@martinfidrych Oh right! Even on android phones there's a delay, and bluestacks isn't any better. For some reason only on iOS can you hear your voice instantly.. Guess it's cos they're machines for productivity

Bluestacks is Android OS and you'll only have VIP through having it on an Android OS account! Much cheaper, but not as good as on iPhone, even bluestacks isn't as good as an iOS device!

@@rosysoviet i tried to see the prices and it the price looks the same, also when i try to join a song it is still delayed , tried asug rog and galaxy ultra still no difference. But thank you tho. I just also figured how to connect my condenser microphone to my headphones and phone to use that way.

@@pfrances09 I used to be charged like £6-7 a month through google play, then I think through the site itself I got a yearly subscription for like £25 so I save like a good 75%! Sometimes those do something but how well Bluestacks works can simply depend on the power of the hardware in your computer itself. And the more things your voice has to run through, the bigger chance of issues! If you can connect straight to your iOS device that's perfect! There's things like the "iRig" which are specifically for making your professional equipment work with phones and tablets :)

Hi Isabel, Bluestacks is quite unreliable with this, I've pretty much never not had issues with Bluestacks 4/5/X and trying to run Smule! Mine often closes, I just keep reopening until it seems to run fine. Otherwise, I would maybe suggest on Bluestacks going into Google Playstore Settings and disabling automatic updates - then uninstalling Smule and using the bluestacks internet browser to find "Smule apk list" and downloading an older version of smule. I think March 2023 or earlier will give you a smule that lets you join closed opens. I've been using that so I can join people who haven't opened anything in ages or I missed the window.

It's a weird program - hard to tell what will work, whether it is pc or the camera. Bluestacks 4 has better chance of using the camera. The filters with the snapchat icon won't work as well

When you're on the effects and listen screen there should be a button that looks like 2 diamonds overlapping - that's so you can move your voice back or forwards :)

@@rosysoviet Yes that is fixed! But I can’t go back in whilst singing if i mess up for example, scrolling doesnt work

Is it something happening during recording, that camera is unstable? I've never seen it on bluestacks, only video flipping upside down, or going black for example. It might be camera compatibility? And depending on whether you're using bluestacks 4 or 5! Also in my experience updates to smule, and bluestacks, have really messed with the whole thing sometimes. Where vocals stop recording, or glitch out, or the camera stops working, or smule instantly crashes bluestacks etc, meaning some things may just not work properly like they did at the time of the video, and you'd just have to check back in with the app at a later date for example.

Sorry for the delayed response, the bluestacks version at the time was able to do right way up but with all the updates they make this often changes. I would try flipping camera, if not, maybe a program that takes your camera and let's you edit the picture, and set that as a default update. Bit like the Snapchat filter app that exists for pc

I've never had video work at all on Bluestacks 5, only 4 - but whenever smule is updated or Bluestacks I would not be surprised something gets broken, Smule is a real pain in the ass on Android OS. Also if there's a snapchat icon (filter) being used, camera goes black. Plus the the Camera will only work if Bluestacks is the only instance running it, and it does freeze up when it doesn't load a camera and need a restart. Could also just be Bluestacks being a typical temperamental and picky emulator depending on the hardware or software it's being run on. Beyond that idk what to suggest, I have a C920 pretty good and reliable cam!

I use IOS for all my smule recordings and correspondence. I do have a top end laptop tho and up to date external cam. Seems like Smule does something to bypass or corrupt third party applications for copyright reasons. Your method seems doable, and by all means should work. The Smule app in the bluestacks 5 emulator is what gets confused and locks up when trying to join a song. Would be nice to use high resolution effects with obs or zoom in Smule piggyback, other than the ones provided. Unlimited creativity.

@@normageinc.1322 I agree it would be great to use more creative methods - as far as I know Snapchat is the most creative one can get - but I have heard Bluestacks have in the pipeline the feature to be able to choose a video source. At the moment it just goes for the camera, which can be messed with in terms of settings like zoom and colours, but the OBS virtual camera thing should be being worked on! Last iOS product I owned was an ipod nano so my experience is limited! Thanks for coming by, no worries.

@@rosysoviet I use iPad and I currently ‘do not’ know a way to incorporate face fx from snap into smule. I thought the emulator route on pc would work too, just as your video instructions. I’ll install bluestacks 4 and try again. There are other ways around using fx from snap on smule but not as seamless as a video source input.
