In this video I analyze game 9 of the World Championship Match between Vasily Smyslov and Mikhail Botvinnik. Smyslov was regarded as one of the best endgame players of all time, and strove to demonstrate beauty and truth in his games. In the ninth game of the match he faced Botvinnik's well prepared French Defense. After a sharp Winawer Variation, Smyslov got an immediate opening variation.
