We use to take them and bleed them into a 5 gal pale then cut the meat off and cubed it up and soak it in the blood. Makes great catfish bait for channels and blues. But no the state i live in wont let us use them anymore. Some bean counter decided that using them for cut bait will cause them to spread into other waters.
The Asian Carp are what we call them in the United States. The real name of them is now Copi. But they are not directly related to the common carp most folks think of.

You should try rigging a single octopus hook, use a 4/0, snell that to your mainline and then run a 2 oz lead about 30 inches below your snelled hook. Single hook gets better hook ups than a treble does. This is speaking from experience Run a baitcasting setup, use 50lb braid. Best carp setup
Tip for snagging.. what I do is just a steady retrieve kinda slow kinda fast you will run into them once u feel it move the end of the line.. set the hook as hard as u can you will tell if it's on or not
Done this a few times. Better if you tie the weight directly next to the top of the hook. Near the eyelet of the hook. We made ours with extra lead under the eyelet around the hooks. But not down to far.

you know as crazy as it may sound you should catch bleed and clean one of these fillets of the silver carp ,and do a catch and cook , it is in no way bad to eat according to some chefs that have tried them , but i would love your own honest opinion , stay well

I've seen Russian videos were they catch them using bait. They call the fish tolstolobik, but I don't speak Russian so I can't figure out what bait most of them use.

Asian carp is a very mild and clean meat to eat. It also has the lowest levels of mercury and pcbs since it doesn’t feed on other fish. Give it a try. Eat away the problem next time!
