The look of sheer horror on Black Swan at the end of the Dance Scene is haunting. The Woman who didn't even seem fazed the first time we meet her and she saves us from Something unto Death and always seemed in control completely losing all composure speaks for itself

This animation was a cinematic masterpiece. I was giddy for the first half (for obvious reasons), then the sudden dark switch was crazy. She was like mentally torturing Swan over and over. If you can terrify Black Swan (who no longer even possesses human chemicals such as those which cause a fight or flight response) then… The sad thing is I don’t even think Acheron is aware that she passively traumatised Swan, because when she speaks to us she calls it an unforgettable experience and she regrets not asking her name 🥺

I agree completely, I don’t think Acheron understands just how much Black Swan was traumatized from this. But such an incredible metaphorical masterpiece!

It is likely that Acheron didn't even do that intentionally. BS, throughout the dance was diving more and more into Acheron, this went on until she cought a memory of the Acheron with the sword drawn. Since Acheron is an Emenator of Nihility, which represents Nothingness, BS most likely got cought in the event horizon and stole a glimpse at IX the Nihility (the blackhole we saw) and she almost get erased. This specifically represents more danger to BS than others since she isn't physical, she is a memetic entity. Black Swan basically fucked around and found out 💀

Thank you so much for this wonderful reaction. It's so rare to find someone who actually analyzes the piece than just scream gay or canon or sexual and actually knows the lore as well. It was amazing for me that if Acheron is truly emanator of IX, on the take over scene, she feels like a black hole that Black Swan can't escape. Getting pulled back and destroyed until they actually showed a white and a red black hole.

Thank you for your kind words 💙 She does feel so much like a black hole. Very on brand for Nihility. I’ve been putting more thought into if people can be emanators for multiple paths now - I’ll patiently wait for more crumbs of emanator info lol

this is not their inhouse anime team, it is actually from another anime company in China who has long cooperation relationship with Mihoyo, i think their logo is shown at the beginning, called the Fantasies Animation

I see what you’re saying - but miHoYoAnime is their in house Animation Studio. It’s not uncommon to collab with other studios but anything labeled with the miHoYoAnime logo on their videos was worked on by their team

There are also hints of Oroboros, (depicting a SNAKE eating its own tail) The Aeon is just connected with the theme of predators, eating and insatiability. Perhaps he rests at the bottom of dead waters. One of the fan theories.

I think that Duke Inferno is being used to set a precedent. He seemed about as strong as a being can get to be on their own, considering how infamous he was, but when an emanator pulls up and your god ignores you? Things don’t end well for you.

Alot of people are missing it. When she asks, "What have you done?" It's not Acheron in the present that asks, it's her switched version in the past. "Excuse me.. Are you asking me?" As if to clarify which version of Acheron is Black Swan asking. (Meanwhile the present Acheron continues to dance, unaware, the trials Black Swan is going through). We are also told by Adventurine she brings "Finality." A quirk of the Aeon of Finality is that he travels backward in time mumuring a prophecy. Acheron is, all but confirmed, the emenator of nihility. Black Swan comes face-to-face with IX BUT we, ourselves, have also faced IX in Simulated Universe. When you meet IX it immediately ends your run. Black Swan suffered the same fate by being sucked into the black hole.

Herta is an emanator of Nous and although the Memokeepers worship Fuli there is no proof Swan herself is an emanator

You can find this information in the official Star Rail Wiki - both confirm they are emanators. I was shocked when I found out this information as well, I went into a lore dive for it on stream

@@ArchAngelKnights It was stated in game prologue that Herta is emanator. Kafka: Who's this? Herta? Silver Wolf: Yeah. Kafka: She looks so young. She was already famous in the last Amber Era, no? She has to be at least a hundred years old. Silver Wolf: She's a member of the Genius Society and an Emanator of Nous the Erudition. She can probably age backwards if she wanted. Black Swan being an emanator is not concrete, but very highly. There are two dots. First is Welt's statement when you first encountered with Forgotten Hall. Welt: Seems like the rumors are true. The Emanators of the Remembrance don't have a physical body and only those they allow can see them. Second in the Black Swan character's info. You can read that all members of Garden of Recollection gave up they physical bodies. And also there is one line about Black Swan can be invisible for people: "What do you see?" I asked, in a form visible to her.
