Those knipex mini bolt cutters are worth theor weight in GOLD. Back when i was in my tools as a scaffold builder those would go through #9 wire and the nubs would be perfect to use to tie up toe boards with the wire.

I got the 18volt DeWalt 6 piece combo with a free Jigsaw at Home Depot close to 20 years ago and never had a problem, one of the original batteries is still working believe it or not. I'm going to stay away from the Milwaukee battery-powered tools from now on until they get the quality under control.

Our guy had both the die grinder and the sander. Sander looks good but expensive. The die grinder would be OK for a line tech or occasional use but for full time use the air tool is better.

For the Knipex, this is the info I have Part #87 00 100 Water pump pliers Cobra XS, 100 mm (4’’) I hope it helps. In Europe, the next batch should be out mid July. Not sure about the US.

My Cornwell guy had a Milwaukee 4.0 m12 battery for $143 and my coworker bought it Thursday. I told him about the deal at HD and he shrugged it off. I showed up Friday with a 4 pack of batteries with two 4.0 and two 2.0 batteries from HD for $149. I love all tools but I’m not making stupid purchases just because this guy drives around peddling his tools. If tool trucks charged up front for their tools they would have been out of business decades ago.

The Snap-on Die Grinder is CGRR861. I didn't know what you guys were talking about at first because other than the head its pretty large. Certainly wouldn't call it small or mini. Length wise it was about 2" taller than the Milwaukee with about the same girth. It also has an on switch and wheel for speed selection like a Dremel which I actually don't like since you cant vary the speed with gripping pressure during operation like pretty much every other die grinder in existence. Its an easy pass for me.

Between Hamilton and Micheal, I'm second guessin on switching to Milwaukee M18. Since I'm not a pro mechanic, if I decide to spend the money on quality tools and it fails. Boy I'm gonna a few levels beyond mad. I was hopin to stay with Milwaukee and have 1 charger for both voltages. I may just keep my ol C3 19.2v Craftsman stuff or look into Rigid.

Clay, the Knipex Cobra's you had in your hand were the 10inch. Last three part numbers are 250 that is the size in mm. So those were the 87 01 250 Next size down is the 87 01 180 (7 inch) That could be what you are missing. followed by the 87 01 150 (6 inch) My EDC Then the 87 01 125 (5inch) I am guessing the new ones will be 87 01 100. for the 4inch. When you said the handles have no grips on them I wasn't sure but they will slip in a pocket really easy if they are smooth. Tell Hamilton to get some Raptor pliers on the truck, he will sell a bucket load. 87 41 250

Talk about shins and receiver hitches, when I am with my wife, I always walk on the traffic side especially in parking lots. We were walking into the store when all of a sudden I heard her scream out. Some JACKSASS in a jacked up truck had a hitch that stuck out about 8 inches and dropped down. She walked into it. I helped her up and then I reached down and pulled that hitch out and threw it into the bed of the truck as hard as I could. Dude came running up ready to fight. When he realized what was going on, he slowed down but was really angry about the big dent I put in the inside panel of his truck. I told him let that be a reminder.

larry borkstrom, well that’s quite unfortunate. You’re really missing out on today’s advances in battery technology and the power manufacturer’s have achieved with lithium ion. I have invested in Milwaukee and Dewalt, with about 80% of my power tools being Milwaukee. Why would you sit there going back and forth with a regular ratchet when you can press a lever on a Milwaukee M12 Fuel 1/2” Ratchet? They’re really awesome ratchets! Having power tools allows you to immediately go to work, instead of spending 10-15 minutes to setup to do a 1 minute job. Anyway...I don’t think it’s anything to be proud of not having cordless tools these days. The days of weak, under powered nicad batteries are a thing of the past. It’s a good time to jump on the band wagon. Milwaukee’s 12 volt tools are as powerful as some brands 18 volt.

Today is my “Saturday” so Matco Michael would have been more appropriate. I looked through the new Real Deals paper from NAPA and they’re going to sell Milwaukee now, too. That will help me out, I hope, since I bought a Milwaukee M12 1/4”, impact driver from Mr. Joe. He was kind enough to steer me away from brushed model I asked him about to a brushless version. No issues with it yet since it ain’t used everyday. But, if the Milwaukee turns out to a flop NAPA sells DeWalt.

So I’m in the middle when it come to the 14.4 line and m12 line. I love snap on better because it just feels right in your hands. I love their trigger as well. But I have had the same issue I bought a stubby 3/8 m12 and few months goes by and starting to get hot and smell burnt. Went to ask the truck to turn it in and said same thing oh u have to send it in I just sale them lol yep never bought from him again and never had an issue with my snap on guy sending anything in or warranty something.

Hey Clay, I have used Milwaukee power tools for years. I need a new screw gun for plastic covers and such and want a new power ratchet. Which of the brands do you find to be the best quality? All of the Milwaukee failures you are showing in the last week or two have me running scared. Like all of us I don't want to buy it only to have to send it in for warranty.

They all have issues ? I personally like the Snap On 14.4 long neck ratchets better than any on the market. The 14.4 screw gun is nice too because how light the clutch is on them or you can crank it up and run long wood screws in if you want.

More Milwaukee failing and that thing isn't even that old... Not looking good lately for Milwaukee, and that tool truck guy needs to learn a few things about customer service because when you have 2 guys in Hamilton and Micheal that really don't sell Milwaukee tools are willing to send off tools they don't sell to service their customers, well it kinda makes you look bad haha
