Most mechs aren’t man enough for Snap On tools. All the butt hurt snowflakes complaining about Snap On prices are prime examples of who can’t handle a working man’s tools. Lol
@CSXtrackworker
@CSXtrackworker 5 лет назад
One of the dumbest comment's I have heard in a good while. At the end of the day the customer does not care what brand tools are used to work on their vehicles. If you want to pay tool truck prices you go right ahead. That is your choice. Doesn't make a man any less if he uses any other brand tool.
@brentmorris262

I've broken almost as many Snap-On tools as I have other brands. They have good ideas on their tools, and the "finish" looks a better quality, but at the end of the day, most of their tools have the same materials and qualities as any other tools. After all, I can't hit a 1/2" drive Snap-On ratchet with a 4Lb sledge without it breaking, but I did it with a Gearwrench multiple times.

Right because the tools you use is what makes you a man. This moron is obviously trying to compensate for his overwhelming shortcomings in his pants, just another dipshit trying to justify his $30000 debt to the tool truck. All of these tool trucks are the payday lenders of the tool world, selling overpriced tools that you can get anywhere else for much cheaper and bank on idiots like comcfi to buy their crap. I use hand tool day in day out and have never stepped foot into one of these trucks....never will.

First off … my respect to all those that turn a wrench for a living. A doctor works on a human body that has not changed for as long as whatever theology you subscribe to; a mechanic works on any number of makes and models that change every few months. I really dislike using a 'back in the day' reference, but memory serves I had to buy a lot of tools to keep up. I had (still have) an extensive (and expensive) collection of tools … Snap-On and 'the rest'. I turned a pretty fair wrench and was trusted by the customers in my small shop. What ruined it for me, and why I chose another path in life, was the particular customer set that invaded Boca Raton in the 70's and pretty much sucked the life out of an honest person trying to make a living. But I digress … Snap-On … the reps will let you go in to any level of debt you choose as long as you make that weekly payment. Mechanics are not stupid, but a lot of them, as this sophomoric video indicates, feel the need to own the finest (Snap-On is not) in order to deliver the finest. I saw the word 'predator' in another comment and that pretty well describes the Snap-On rep business model. What really sealed my opinion on their after-the-fact support occurred just recently. After contacting Snap-On for warranty consideration on a collection of screw drivers where the handles had all 'dissolved' over the years, I was instructed to approach one of the local trucks in my geography. I approached two of them, and as I did not show up on their customer list, I was politely shown the door. And I won't bore anyone with the old adage that Craftsman will guarantee everything for life; even with Sears out of the business, that still remains true. Yet the Craftsman screwdriver handles didn't crumble. I bought those before I could afford Snap-On. Now, me not being man enough to own 100% Snap-On, well, that's another discussion.

All in all. snap on might make nice tools. But owning expesive tools doesnt make you a good mechanic. Ading too that, Id rather own cheap tools that get the job done just the same as ones 5 times the cost, spend that money i saved on buying exspensive tools on something else. These guys are just crooks taking advantage of new mechanics (or bad mechanics who buy exspensive tools too make themselves think there good mechanics) and when they realise thre not good mechanics and dont get any work or things slow down. (From what i have read) come and take everything thats got the name "snap-on" branded on it. Wether its paided for not. Im not a mechanic, even if i was. Ill stick to buying cheap tools. And spend the extra money on the specialty tools.

@matthew boyko Coming from a guy who has no mechanical experience. Wow. Until you actually get in the trade and work on multiple vehicles trucks and machines, each and every model will have a job that is an arse of place to get into, no other tool trucks or companies make the specialty tools required that get into those places better than Snap on does. In the end it saves you time makes the job faster making you more profitable as a mechanic.

I've turned wrenches both as a mechanic and paint and body for 37 years. As a youngen, just starting out, I fell into the Snap On and Matco tool trap. Had to have a full box right then. But it didn't take long to figure out better ways to spend my money. As for having to be a real man to use your tools, if you ever find yourself wanting to take a trip to the North Carolina mountains, put it out there on one of your videos. No will will repo my box. It made with the same gauge of powder coated steel, using the same folding techniques, and using the same manufacture of those $10 drawer slides that hold a bunch of weight. I made one payment of $400. I'll leave financing a tool box to automotive mechanics. They are amongst a few categories who get conditioned by Snap-On through the college to think that these tools make them "look" better. As for efficiency, I'll take the challenge, give me an Altrade set and I'll still work circles around these guys. Air frame & Power techs are awesome, they have risen above the suckering of tools in college and peer pressure.

I used to always wish Snap-on reps would be more open to stopping at residential garages. SO much business being missed. I just order right from the website any more. You used to have to wait 'til you spotted the truck at a local garage, then BEG the driver for a print catalog, then try to catch up with them to order, etc. Tons of people work on their own cars and have hobby vehicles and would be willing to buy better tools. So I can cut my snap on long pry bars or extensions in half and I can get them replaced, or was there something wrong with those? And I understand you did that so you don’t have to pay a crazy shipping fee for a long box.

So if he only owes 1k to you and you take all of his stuff and sell it all does he get the money left over or you only take the good stuff? How does that work
@christopherbonanno1120

1 of you can’t afford the tools to be in business then your not ready to be in business 2 if a tool company has to finance tools. Then there over priced 3 why go into business in debt and or have to work to pay someone else 4 I’m not for or against snap on I care about quality longevity and warranty being taken care of properly sure there stuff is good but there is other cheaper in price manufacturers not cheaper in quality people need to know what there buying and there options These statements are coming from a person who has been in business 25 years so just be smart when it comes to buying anything and and look at your work load before you spend. Good luck 👍

It's funny how some people think the name brand tools is what makes a mechanic a mechanic

How long do you go before you repo a box, I bought snap on for 30 years , always made some type of payment arrangement, these guys must go months without paying

Most of the time it’s a mutual thing. $hit hits the fan and they lose their job or whatever and me and them work it out to get it picked up.

At what point are the personal tools considered "abandoned"? Is there a certain amount of time you're required to sit on them?

You said the other pallet has been sitting since September of 17??? What if they never come to get there tools? How long do you have to hold them till they belong to you.

Ok, cutting the tools on half doesn't bother me you do what ever you want as long as they aren't my tools lol. But what was wrong with the prybar? It didn't look damaged at all

You pay over $6,000 for a tool box with no tools nor tool box foam. But pay the same price to Sonic and get 263 pieces of tools and tool box foam. With lifetime warranty. Why?

I'm convinced the only reason snap on still exists is because of big dick energy at shops. The whole "Oh snap on is the best... if you don't have snap on you're not a real mechanic and not real man etc" meanwhile guys are going in to debt for tools they can't even afford.

Never watched you channel but I have a lot of respect for the amount of time you took to make sure you kept his stuff separated and had no intention on messing with the things he does own. I was curious if you just choose what you want to take to equal out the balance or if it was just most recently purchased items etc. you seem like a good dude good luck with the route and all
