@@a.p.8846 She was when she worked on set. Even if it's not now, it's still a big thing to have someone of the actual royal bloodline and family to be working in film.
@@a.p.8846 Her title has not been taken away, so she is still Her Majesty Queen Margrethe and, it seems, will be for the rest of her life. She is simply no longer The Queen. Former Crown princess Mary is now The Queen and also Her Majesty.
She just abdicated several days ago and I have to wonder if she's not telling the public the truth about the reason why . I'm wondering if she's ill very ill and doesn't want anybody to know that she might not be around much longer ... ?
@@gardensofthegodsHonestly, I hope not, but most likely, she needed a break, after 52 years of being Queen. Compared to when she was in her younger years, it’s more difficult to keep up with royal duties being older. Also, I suppose she might want to prioritize her artistic passions as she takes a back seat on royal duties.
That wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. Perhaps she'll also man the box office and sell snacks in the interval. There was a female impersonator in Denmark who impersonated the Queen and at his last performance before he retired, she turned up to give him her best wishes.
@@peterc.1618 Not to be rude or anything, but calling him a female impersonator is very misleading, considering female impersonator is another term for a drag queen, which he definitely is not. He is an actor, who has played many different roles, mostly male. It is a very rare occurence that he plays female characters, and the female characters he has played are usually parodies of real women (such as the queen) in a revue/comedy setting, which is not unusual for male actors to do in general, and you wouldn't call any male actor who has ever parodied a woman a female impersonator.
Exactly! She is so talented and very artistically creative. She designs most of her own gowns and dresses as well. I shall miss her as queen but now I will look forward to more of her great work in the artistic and design fields.
I mean she has been involved with artistic theatrical projects eversince she reigned but yeah this what mostly what she can do in her retirement years . She is a fascinating and artistic Queen
I knew that she did a number of design "things" (book illustrations, embroidery work, costume design for ballet...) but I just looked on Wikipedia for the list of her interests and achievements, and the list is impressive - especially for someone who already held more than a full-time job. And what I have seen of them, is good work - NOT AT ALL "oh dear, she's the queen, so I guess we _have_ to...😩" No, good stuff. 😊👍
People seem surprised that our Queen worked on this. Truth is, she has been working with The Royal Danish Theater for a long time and has worked as an archaeologist as well.
She is also a bit fan of The Lord of the Rings, and before she became queen, made a bunch of illustrations inspired by the books. She sent those illustrations to Tolkien, who decided to feature them in several publications of the book. Had she been born a few generations later, I reckon she would have been the D&D queen of Denmark. :D
Thank you for Majesty Queen Margrethe II hard work over a long period of time. I wish Her Majesty the Queen a long life and a comfortable and healthy life. Please be bless from God Majesty Queen Margrethe II with all my heart, forever.
Yes, she is an accomplished designer and visual artist. She designs for several of theatre, opera and ballet companies in Denmark, and she also designs her own elaborate gowns which she wears for State and other special occasions.
In the UK, former Home Secretary Amber Rudd worked on the production of the hit film 'Four Weddings and a Funeral' but it is quite something to actually have a HEAD OF STATE working on the production
To expand on what OP said, The Queen became fascinated with Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings at the beginning of the 1970s, and, unsolicited and under the pseudonym Ingahild Grathmer, sent a series of sketches to the author. Tolkien was famously opposed to all types of illustrations for his work, because the readers were supposed to create in their imaginations their own conceptions of the universe described in the books. Nevertheless, the story goes that the author kept drawings from the unknown artist, and that two of Grathmer’s ink sketches were found in his coat pocket, while the rest turned up during a review of the estate after his death - with several even having Tolkien’s warm recommendations noted on the sheets. Her art was featured on the English release by by The Folio Society, and the Danish Gyldendal when they reissued The Lord of the Rings in 1977. the publishing house chose to use The Queen’s fluid, Art Nouveau-inspired illustrations, in which no faces are put on the main characters, exactly as Tolkien preferred. These works of art are examined in the film documentary J.R.R.T.: A Film Portrait of J.R.R. Tolkien (for those interested).
no she took their titles of Prins and Princess and gave them titles of count and countess - they don't live in Denmark, if you are being payed by the danish taxpayers you should live in Denmark and work for Denmark it's that simple, plus we have enough heirs o the throne
@@brandonholmes8485 She speaks numerous languages including English, French, German, Swedish, and has some knowledge of Faroese (the Faroe Islands being part of her realm). I don't think you can study at the LSE, Cambridge, and the Sorbonne if you only speak Danish. 😀
Royals aren’t politicians and have pretty much no power. Only in the UK (that I know of) does the Sovereign have even the remote possibility of exercising power and even then that’s only for emergencies or publicity. Also UK is always going back and forth with who they say is really in charge and they also keep giving powers to the King, that he doesn’t want!! An Ideal King simply watches the machine of government and Reigns in any problems that are unable to be solved WITHOUT direct intervention by the Monarch.
For example this is what they passed, they just want to abdicate their elected positions to the King/Queen; and have the sovereign take the fall: Dissolution and Calling of Parliament Act 2022 2022 CHAPTER 11 BE IT ENACTED by the Queen’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 Repeal of the Fixed-term Parliaments Act 2011 2 Revival of prerogative powers to dissolve Parliament and to call a new parliament. 3 Non-justiciability of revived prerogative powers A court or tribunal may not question: (a) the exercise or purported exercise of the powers referred to in section 2, (b) any decision or purported decision relating to those powers, or (c) the limits or extent of those powers.
We are not republicans or royalist, we want to see freedom in Denmark, freedom of speech Ch, freedom of thinking, freedom for common sense and fereedom to care for all people equally. 🇩🇰Free Denmark from ductatirship. It has gone too far and for too long time🇩🇰 free is from a Monarchy who have intervened several times in European politics and change its course to the worse. 🇩🇰🇩🇰🇩🇰NOT a fairy tale anywhere and the media and historians want you to know the beautiful facts of a very dark nightmare. “historians” make false claims and do not research the subject. Only one British historian has made a clear statement about the end of world monarchies by 2030. He is so competent and also censored.
This whole thing is pathetic to watch an old woman hiding her son from the shame of the unfaithfulness scandal, abdicates to shift media sentiment and worst of all the new queen lets this king of Denmark off for being a prick !!!! Its just sad to watch humans at the top act like they can just walk around with their heads in the sand!!!!
The abdication has been in the works for a long long time, literally nothing has been proven, it's been firmly denied and spouting a bunch of useless conspiracy around doesn't get you anywhere.
