Very interesting. I wonder if the Jora, 2nd and 3rd should have their own combined trigger input though. The jora in particular is sometimes played at the same time as the baaj but often it is strummed with the 2nd and 3rd in a backing rhythm against the chikaris, and then the baaj kind of soloing over this.
@@bluenautilus I think that would work, at least from a theoretical/modelling perspective. It would make the baaj sound less chordal which I think would end up being more accurate.
@@frakfeem This is one of those areas that differs by gharana... on a Vilayat Khan/GP style sitar it's common to strike them all at once and have a more chordal sound... in Ravi Shankar-style you wouldn't do that of course. In a future version I may have an option for different setups.
@@bluenautilus Yeah that's true, it also depends on which section of the performance is being played/emulated, in the jhalla for instance most of the strings are ringing all at the same time even if they are not necessarily strummed at exactly the same time. It's definitely a compromise either way.
