Reviews:
a. PORKY'S, a 20th Century-Fox release. Gene and Roger find this film a moronic, sexist, gross, high school sex comedy, and vote NO on it, though Roger thinks it had some good moments.
b. EL SALVADOR: ANOTHER VIETNAM, an M J and E production, which Gene and Roger find an outstanding documentary about a fight for El Salvador, very much worth its Oscar® nomination for Best Documentary Feature (the film lost to GENOCIDE). (both YES's) (Academy Award® and Oscar® are the registered trademarks and service marks of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.)
c. DAS BOOT, a Columbia release. Gene and Roger find this to be a phenomenal German war story (both YES's).
d. DEATHTRAP, a Warner Bros. release, which Gene and Roger find a remarkable blend of suspense and humor (both YES's).
e. RICHARD PRYOR: LIVE ON THE SUNSET STRIP, a Columbia release, a stand-up comedy concert film which Gene and Roger very strongly applaud (both YES's).
Dogs of the Week:
a. Roger picks MADMAN, which he finds a knockoff of two other "dead teenager movies."
b. Gene picks GREAT WHITE, which he slams as a ripoff of JAWS in every conceivable way.
