It does reduce the likelihood of shoes that come in toddler sizes being contaminated with industrialized pesticides, PCBs, phtalates and worse unknown poisons one can find in a garbage heap. The big brands selling millions of their "recycled" shoes are doing way less than this man. 1% of plastic per shoe that didn't actually come from the ocean? Thaely is actually doing something and it's not that hard for a big company to use as much plastic as them, but they choose not to

I agree with what you said...the other companies are tagging their products as recycled just to increase sells
@nepemorado2733
@nepemorado2733 2 года назад
If I'm not wrong it's just because they need to sell millions of pairs and the process to collect and wash plastic is quite expensive compared to the normal process so that's why they show that they are recycling through a marketing campaign, but the real deal is that the mass production of a pair of sneakers that are profitable requires that only less than 10% must be recycled plastic. Sometimes the percentage is higher or lower, but usually is not more than the 50% Hopefully with new technologies and people with new ideas that percent will go to the 100% and make the offers more trustworthy
