@@justin-cruz well yes they do but only a fraction of it if it weren’t for the concessions the movie theaters would go out of business. Since the ticket prices mainly go to the manufacturer of the movies they only get like 10%. So the movies rely on there snacks which make up like 80% of there income

or sell their own pruducts that are exclusive to amc...or something like that

@@randombaguette actually it's closer to like 50% of ticket sales, but that's over a couple months of a movie being out. Studios split with theaters like 90/10 first week then it slowly gets more even over the weeks of a movie being out, eventually the theater claims that 90% but it's not immediate profit and less people are watching by that time, so they need concessions to keep everything up and running.

1,000 subs without a video challenge it still wouldn't be enough to make up for the cost to run a theater though. I work at a theater and candy is close to $5 each. We still get a lot of people buying it and lowering the prices would bring in more people but that means having to order more units costing more money so in the end lowering the prices wont help the actual theater. Trust me i agree its expensive but thats how they need to do it.

She is right though, the theatre makes zero dollars off the tickets, all that goes to the movie studio, they only make any profit from concessions. If nobody buys concession, theatre does not exist.
