As someone that changed their mind when arguing with this, I would say there are just people that are quite reluctant to call others as such. There are people who were labelled wrongly and their lives were destroyed beyond belief even when the truth was told. I would rather be called sheep than calling someone a pdf without knowing all that can be known.

My understanding is that a major thing people were arguing for was that actual evidence be presented and not just bias and hearsay. People jumped to asserting pdf status with no real material and attacking people for not immediately agreeing because someone said so.

I think TheQuartering is more about trying to moderate people who escalate claims and never in any way defended a pdf-file in this video. He flat out agreed that it's messed up, no matter what, but there's vastly different degrees of messed up that can be covered under the vague umbrella of "inappropriate messages". People just tend to go from "inappropriate messages" straight to sexting or worse. Hi, Quartering fan here. I didn't bother watching his series on Dr Disrespect because idk who he is or care. I can see the argument for innocent until proven guilty, and there is a wide gap between what was admitted to and what could have happened. I do see your point that Disrespect probably made this tweet pre-emptively, and if the situation was better then he would have said so. If he was being persecuted in bad faith, like she said she was 25 but she was actually 17, he would have said so. Afaik his takes are usually better. It almost feels like he found out and then immediately started recording instead of taking 5 minutes to think out his response first. Side note, I agree his cropping has been poor lately.

Remember, the original concept for twitch whispers was for Moderators to communicate with the creator they are a mod for. Every time a story like that pops up, something bothers me about the various reactions about it, and I think I finally pinpointed what it is that peeves me. It's how people mix up morality and legality. Yes, sexually solliciting a minor that is incapable of making proper judgement and is likely to end up getting manipulated or otherwise forced to go along is morally disgusting. Yes, our legal system defines minors as anyone under a certain age. Laws need a line drawn in the sand, they literally cannot function without that. But laws do not define morality, and there's always a huge grey area where we can have absolutely morally disgusting things happen, and the law says "oh yeah no that's fine, go on." And inversely, cases where the law says "Yup, that's illegal, you're going to jail." but really, what they did isn't all that bad. And I feel whenever these kinds of subjects are adressed, we never get these kind of nuances. I would like to hear, from time to time, people just agreeing that, yup, that's illegal, yup this guy has to face some kind of consequences, but at least not much harm was done, so we can just move on, and of course keep an eye on the perpetrator in the future to make sure he doesn't try that shit again.

Used to watch Quartering a few years back. Said a few things I agreed with, but quickly realized more often than not he would either make shit up, or make a dozen videos based off of a single tweet from a celebrity each time pretending it was something they just did, think my breaking point was when he did a video on a two year old tweet like it had just been posted they day before, one he had already made multiple videos on. Not even something I disagreed with him on, but the utter trash his video was made it so I could never take him seriously again.

And i would like to assume, I'd like to, that quartering was hoping for the same thing i was in a comment i made on your previous video on this topic... specifically that dr disrespect would have been under the impression that the minor in question wasnt a minor, which is why twitter had to pay him since it was on them to make sure the 18+ regulated plateform feature of whispers was supposed to be age gated... which due to legality he couldn't incriminate twitter with his statement. Having said that, the quartering has had situations where he didnt wait for more info and had to retract afterwards, in the past.
