John Clark (Willem Dafoe), a seasoned CIA operative known for his unconventional methods, recognizes the exceptional skills of Domingo Chavez (Raymond Cruz) and sees him as a perfect fit for the covert team he's assembling. Chavez, a skilled marksman with a background in special operations, is approached by Clark for the crucial role of team sniper. This recruitment marks a pivotal moment in the formation of Clark's elite unit, setting the stage for high-stakes operations that will push the team to their limits. The dynamic between Clark and Chavez adds a layer of tension and expertise to the unfolding events, promising precision and lethality in their upcoming missions.

"Clear and Present Danger" follows Jack Ryan (Harrison Ford), a CIA analyst thrust into a complex web of political intrigue and covert operations. When his mentor is appointed as Acting Deputy Director of Intelligence, Ryan is promoted to his former position, only to uncover a secret war being waged against a Colombian drug cartel. As Ryan delves deeper, he discovers that the operation, authorized by the U.S. President without Congressional approval, involves illegal activities and puts American troops in danger. With the help of John Clark and his team, including sniper Domingo Chavez, Ryan races against time to expose the truth and rescue the soldiers left behind enemy lines. The film explores themes of political corruption, loyalty, and the moral ambiguities of foreign intervention, all while delivering intense action sequences and a gripping narrative that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats.

(A) Maintain Ballistic Advantage - staying far enough away the other guy can't easily shoot you, while you still are in range to effectively engage targets, and (B) Never Leave a Trace - which is hammered home to use in Sniper School, not even a footprint if you can help it, definitely NOT a cheeseburger wrapper. Big as rifle. Skinny little can. The silencer is barely 2.5 times the diameter of the bore which is .308. The thing is not even an inch thick). Reality: Somewhat reduced sound, still a VERY loud boom, probably not even hearing safe. Hollywood: Tiny mouse squeak.

@@SuperLuminalElf Oh no, the syntax police is here. Quick, hide the illegal words. I call it silencer. Always have. The dude who invented it called it a silencer as well. I find the term suppressor confusing because of terms like suppressive fire. Then again, tomato/tomato, silencer/suppressor it's the same thing.
